Here are my problems with this deck:

1. Repeating Queens. The idea of using the same person is fine as the way they are presented vary. Yours is just ctrl+c ctrl+v then changed the suits.

2. Boring Kings and Jacks. The only difference is the face and the initials. Nothing else varies. The Jacks have varying wands though but still not good enough.

3. One-way courts. I don't mind one-way courts if it's to give more space for good art. But having them one-way just for initials seems unnecessary and just won't pass for my standards.

4. Boring back. I know the back design where you put two symbols on the top and bottom is the "in thing" for simple decks designed for cardists and magicians but it just looks to me like it's the product of laziness and the lack of creativity. The Virts pulled off a great minimalistic back design and would be something that collectors would want more.

5. Re-colours. The fact that you stated that you're doing a heck lot of re-colours is just off putting.

Here are my problems with this deck:

5. Re-colours. The fact that you stated that you're doing a heck lot of re-colours is just off putting.

Maybe for you, but not for everyone. It might surprise you that there are people (like me) who like recolors of back designs they like, so I wouldn't count that as a negative point in general (It's negative for you because you don't seem to like recolors but it doesn't make the deck bad). My problem with this deck is the back design itself, that in my opinion just doesn't look good.

Yashi pretty much summed up all the problems with this deck, I would add the completely unimaginative Jokers to his list as well. I don't mind recolors of good decks either (but this isn't a good deck) as long as they're not dragged out over a long period of time. This is a classic case of lazy design hiding behind the cloak of being minimalist.

The only effort put in this deck is the faces of the kings and jacks, and most of the general public won't have a clue, or care, about who the kings and jacks are. After the designer came up with the rather boring concept of putting a spade in a star, he quit trying and phoned the rest in. I am not optimistic about this deck funding.

I like the backs plus for $9 for a deck without is being an early bird, not bad at all. I assume the pips are normal. I'll look up the people's videos one day if I'm bored.

I like this deck despite the things that have been mentioned here. It's not as slick as a lot of decks but it has passion. Obviously inspired by Madison Rounders, I find the Stars and Spades appealing. He posted some other backs on Facebook that people responded to, but I think he is sold on the Star and Spade. I would like to see those initials disappear on the courts and an ad card let you know who the Magicians are, or not. It feels like a tribute deck to his favorite Magicians, with Magic Babe Ning being the most favorite. The price point is good and there is a lot of heart in this deck.

totally agree SK, I just wish the female courts looked like the male courts. The queens are all original art with unique poses - the boys are all heads "glued on" to fat boring "same" bodies - they don't gyve well together IMO

And "Yes" make the initials go away

I wold totally back this deck if he took care of these two things

It is kind of a shame he didnt put in the same effort on the kings and jacks as he did the queens.

Ok so if anyone has pledge for this, make your own conclusions from the data as shown below. The project got an extra funding of 3.5k with little or no increase in backers. Hope this isn't someone's idea of a prank, it could ruin a persons life.

He's been trying to make a deal with almost anyone to make sure he gets funded. Guess someone bit.

Yeah no kidding, last minute $3000 funding increase and his begging in the last 2 updates caused me to pull out, sorry but begging isn't going to help anything and is childish.

Another thing that turned me off was his almost excessive promotion of the project, at least on Facebook. It's like hearing a song on the radio over and over and over, it gets tiring and then you start to hate it, same thing imo.

Yep, I seldom ever back off a pledge, but I pulled mine on this one. Just does not smell right.

From what I can tell the last minute pledge came from the same person with the last minute pledges on the Icon deck!

I'm not sure how you can tell who made that last minute pledge, but it looks like this deck still won't fund anyways (unless there is yet another last second suspicious pledge), so its a moot point. With the ongoing Mana decks, plus the upcoming Seasons decks, Uusi's 6th deck, and the 2015 Annual UC deck coming up around the corner, there is no reason to be concerned with "minimalistic" decks like this one....

I think Victor is correct and volantangel proved it. I would be suspicious. If I was Jared, I would be contacting that $3000 pledge quick. I have heard of Kickstarters getting a big pledge at last minute then later finding out the credit card doesn't go through. Then they wind-up with production cost or shipping cost problems.

Checking the last 6 pledgers. They all seem to be heavy hitters on Kickstarter especially the last one "David Tasi" If he is the $3000 pledge, I would calling him and saying , "Hey, how are you doing? You do know you made a $3000 pledge? If so, you're my new best friend"
