Haha no worries, i dont even have 10% of that to spend on them. Maybe they should have a uber prize for the highest spender for the period, and post the real time leaderboards, that would get some people to spend some big amount of moolah. wait i shouldnt be giving them anymore ideas...

That would be me! I'm certainly less than happy right now. But when the dust settles, Ellusionist is a company, not a cardist and collectors group. They want as much money as they can get and printing 5,000 copies of a "not-to-be-sold" deck is their way to get you to spend $150+. These decks are just marketing materials for them and they don't value them the same way a collector or cardist does. And that is why, from now on, I will immediately discredit any promises that they make.

With all the details from any site that's offering a discount of some sort? Personally I'd prefer by company so we can discuss the relative merits of each offer within.

That said, I'm now done with Ellusionist, at least ordering direct.

My New Year's resolution is going to be going through my collection and focusing in on what I'd like to collect. There will be some big purges I'm sure. For now I think it's going to be custom courts and pips.

I'm with Strag. Whatever they have said in the past is now obviously irrelevant and likely total BS, marketing hype. They aren't concerned that they sold those uncut sheets full-well knowing that there were hundreds, no thousands of them. "Discovered them in our warehouse", yeah, right. You always bury thousands of decks of your most valuable stock where you can't find it. Just total BS, like I said, and now everyone knows it. They are no better than thieves, which is exactly how I would feel if I had purchased one of those uncuts.

Just open a new thread, I'm sure it will spark a lively debate. My "52 Plus Joker 2014 Convention" thread is here in "New Cards...", there's really no better place to put it. It just shouldn't hide in "Off Topic". Maybe we need to ask Michael to open a new "doesn't fit elsewhere but playing cards" sub-section?

If I've had framed uncut sheet of the deck that will never exist I would be pissed too...
Photos of deck are just in mail (not as separate photo...)
Deck looks exactly like Gold Arcane just with red ink instead of gold...

Am voting with my pocketbook and not participating in their charade. There are plenty of great decks that have eclipsed Arcane, will put my money there. I've been able to pick up a half dozen golds at a decent price and think they look better than the red.

I think CBJ did this last year and it was a useful resource. I don't know if any of the mods are willing to step up and put in the effort this year. In fact, I don't think Jay has posted anything in several days now and it appears we got some new mods now...

Looking great, guys! It's hard to pick what my favorite deck will be based on looks alone because most of them are just color changes! I hope this is just a fad and once all current decks are printed with every color, all the big companies can get back to designing new decks.

I can't say that I didn't go and get my Red Arcane, because I did. I hang my head in shame, because I'm one of the people that agrees that it's not a new deck, it's just a rehash of something we've seen, and clearly with 5000 of them printed, it's nothing special. In this case, it's a direct slap in the face of collectors, after them having claimed that the uncuts were all that existed, and at least implying they were all that ever would.

A new color of an existing deck is not a new deck, it's just a new color period. We should all refrain from purchasing them to make a point. It's not like they won't sell them - there are far too many sheeple these days in the playing card collector arena, but those of us that have any sense know it's just a money-grab, certainly not designed to further the hobby. Plain and simple, it's them taking advantage of us. Sure, it has been done elsewhere, but the big "E" is the worst of the lot. I noticed yesterday that the claim on the page with the uncuts it still there. Jeez, you'd think somebody would have enough sense to change that.

On another subject, I bought a domain name last night that is going to be our tool to kick back at kickstarter projects that end up available (and delivered) before they fulfill their backer pledge rewards. That just sucks eggs, being polite. We should again rally the troops and put a stop to it, even if they won't. The problem is that they are "fat, dump & happy" with their 5% cut of everything, and refuse to make regulations and rules that prohibit what is happening.

It's a simple change: forbid the sale of anything before the pledge rewards are filled. I don't think that's too much to ask, but I guarantee that no matter how many of us complain, they won't do a thing about it.

I ask each and every one of you to go to their contact page and put in that request: "No Kickstarter funded item shall be sold to the public at all until backer pledges are fulfilled." That's pretty simple.

Just saw victors review of the red arcane. It looks terrible. It looks like someone took a red highlighter and highlighted a deck of black arcanes. The red sticks out like a sore thumb.

Which is probably exactly what happened... Kenzii said he didn't have anything to do with it. We'll see in a few days, I told him I would report back. That bad, huh?
