I know you're too nice a guy, but if you harassed him with questions about things like his advertisement of "limited deck resale value", you'd be the 1st channel I follow on YouTube.
Well I conducted the interview more than a month ago... SO I don't recall If I did, but I don't think so. I think that was a momentary blip of hubris. I don't think he gave it the thought it deserved in the moment. He's an affable guy ultimately. It's a tricky review for me. Because I also see Jason's point about the decks being generally simple in nature. I think the final total of Asad's successes lie in his strategy. Having 1mil YT subs to leverage obviously helps immensely.

Ok, so it is more understandable now. This is a deck that already has a well established, popular personality or brand behind it. I am relatively new to this whole scene and was unaware.

5700 backers out of potentially 1mil plus fans is reasonable.

Whether or not you decide to publish this question on YouTube, I think the topic of the backs being printed off center should be addressed. It seems to have affected all the cucumber and blueberry decks.

Oh damn, it sucks to hear that. That's a lot of messed up decks.

Lots of great insight from Asad himself in my latest episode. Enjoy. Thanks.

It has taken a while but I have finally received my Mint 2 bundle. Unfortunately, my package was missing the coins (or medallions, as they were called in the campaign) and I am following up with Asad on this - will see how this turns out.

As for the cards, the Cucumber and Blueberry are not bad but the registration on the backs is way off - it looks to me that USPCC no longer gives a **** about the quality of the decks they churn out. Real shame.

As regards the Frost deck, I was expecting not to like it but somehow I do. Borderless backs, semi-custom courts and not a bad deck. Am yet to open the Foiled Frost deck.

Great review as always. I want to point out one discrepancy in your review, however. You described these decks as having a modern cut, but they have a traditional cut, the deck faro naturally face to back.

The full-bleed versions are fantastic. But when you try to fly too close to the sun, sometimes you get burned. Asad wanted to go with super thin borders on his blue and green versions, but when you go that thin, it leaves with you with almost no margin for error with the USPCC, and if the registration is even slightly off, it really shows. I'm surprised that Asad went with such thin borders, that's usually more of a cardist's thing, magicians usually want a more standard border to help conceal double lifts. I still find it unreal that he raised more than half a million dollars in his campaign.

I love USPCC for handling but, with how off registration has been off these days, I'm starting to prefer other printers, most especially for decks like these... :? :|

Why don't they, yanno, fix the issue. I can't imagine it being that hard to fix unless it is some massive, systemic issue that I'm unaware of.

oh buddy, you're tellin' me... we got a damn thread here discussing exactly this bs lol

I most agree with my love, Merlebird's surmise that it's simply a matter of won't rather than can't lol... *sigh* :|

Ah you know, lately I've been discovering more and more that certain USPCC decks faro quite well regardless of the direction the sheets are cut. I wonder if I just didn't realize I faro'ed them in the wrong direction. I'm used to having issues getting some stock to faro at all (Certain NOIR and OPC are good examples) so maybe i just took it for granted they were modern when i did the faro and it just worked.

If you're good at faroing a deck, you can faro in either direction. But the cut of the cards definitely makes faroing them easier and more naturally according to the direction of the cut. You're just too skilled for your own good!
