bicycle chinese zodiac

Unread post by Zzzzi »

The release date is unknown, it should be sold in bicycle Taobao store first.

A full set of 12, with a specially designed bar box, there are no more pictures, but I have seen the card back, the design is very nice.

Nice set of AoS, but it looks like each deck has different but the same court across all suits?

Different zodiac deck are different court, the two pictures are snakes and dogs, but the set of court in the same deck seem to be only slightly different.

Oof... 800 boxes? This is going to be hefty.
You want to reclaim your mind and get it out of the hands of the cultural engineers who want to turn you into a half-baked moron consuming all this trash that’s being manufactured out of the bones of a dying world.

The tucks are super well laid out but those card faces leave a lot to be desired

There's been some great western Zodiac designs , but I've yet to see a great overall Chinese Zodiac deck series. That's really sad.

Kingstar, there's a series for you to consider. I'm very hesitant to push Ark, considering how many different variants they had for the 4 divine animal series! :D

Yes, I was thinking of that set. For me, IMHO, the courts in the whole set were bad in general. Some courts are too muddy, some too busy and worse, no reflection of the Chinese theme. Some were in full western clothing, with Horse being the worse culprit, where the courts all drawn from the Hindu mythology.

Granted the artist is Mongolian , but still, when you're doing an oriental Zodiac, I expect Oriental design themes. (unless you state clearly that this will be a non-oriental design or mixing them with other cultural themes)

More images that showcase the box. Credits to Yiren Ying on Facebook.
He mentions the wooden case is not from Bicycle, and he asked someone to make one that has a lid.

I have that set and enjoy the decks, but I don't have the cultural context to opine on how authentic they are. I appreciate the other comments.

The outside of the display box is great! But the decks themselves look awfully same-y to me
