Re: 2015 Deck of the Year Contest
Everything oyu need is in the first post in this topic.
Basically pick a deck of cards released in 2015 that you think is the best in each category listed. Once all votes are in they are counted up and the best deck in each category is determined. You score points based on whether the decks you chose were 1st, 2nd or 3rd in each category. The top point scorers win prizes donated from all over the communiry.

So, do the aves playing cards qualify or not? they are in the PCF list but portfolio dates them to 2014?

I would say YES as the majority of backers would've received their decks in 2015, however this one is on the fence and up to the Mods to decide. So, do the aves playing cards qualify or not? they are in the PCF list but portfolio dates them to 2014?
Funded in Nov 2014.
Shipping started mid Dec 2014
First backers received decks Dec 23rd 2014.
Finished shipping Jan 2015.

I would assume not simply because it was eligible in the 2014 contest: http://unitedcardists.com/viewtopic.php ... ear#p75543" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;misterharmanko wrote: I would say YES as the majority of backers would've received their decks in 2015, however this one is on the fence and up to the Mods to decide.

Re: 2015 Deck of the Year Contest
Glad you loked! I was going to say "yes", but if we allowed it to be vote for last year, it's not fair to allow it this time. Heck, I got my first deck (it was a prototype) in July of 2014, so I couldn't remember when it shipped.vasta41 wrote:I would assume not simply because it was eligible in the 2014 contest: http://unitedcardists.com/viewtopic.php ... ear#p75543" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;misterharmanko wrote: I would say YES as the majority of backers would've received their decks in 2015, however this one is on the fence and up to the Mods to decide.

The list of KS decks is a HUUUUGE help for me making my picks, but I realized that a couple of my absolute faves aren't on the list, because they weren't KS. I haven't figured out how to get a list of 2015 decks from Portfolio52 yet. So, I hope this list is of use to some of you.

Vellichor
Medieval Revival
Sleepy Hollow
Black Market decks - Red Bar, Veteran, and Tzarouka
Amontillado

Okay, I added these to my list of non-Kickstarter decks above, and I'm certain I'm still missing a few E, T11, and CPC releases. I'll continue to add as others point out decks missing from my list above.Calypso wrote:So.. is there a definitive list of decks for 2015 somewhere?

Re: 2015 Decks of the Year Contest
I know I'm late to the party on this, and the decisions have been made on what is a series and what isn't but I just wanted to note that later in this thread I think I read that decks in the same series which got a release in 2015 count, and if it's decks by one designer as a series then Randys original LUXX (shadow edition) does count from what I can tell? Not trying to cause more confusion, just looking for clarification.volantangel wrote:Mike Ratledge wrote:vasta41 wrote:1. Deck Series, so long as there has been one release in 2015, it qualifies. Deck series is not branding, ie. bicycle, legends & LUXX are not a series. Applicable series just off the top of my head, Jackson's tally ho series, Giovanni's Omnia series, Alex's Seasons series, Brain Vessel's Seven Seas, Emmanuel's paper-cut series etc.chach wrote:Does Mana qualify given its odd "fulfillment"?
Maybe next year you can have best LUXX deck of 2016?

Re: 2015 Deck of the Year Contest
I fixed up the specifics. I have a pair of Mana Sybil N°3 sets with Livida added, total 6 decks and I have a half brick of Livida also. I have two uncuts Gio had Eddie at GW send me to use as a prize, one IS the Suprema (limited edition) uncut. Not really fair to put my name on it, it's his prize he supplied, but I will be shipping it. I added some detail to the hand picked brick Dan & Dave sent - it is easily worth $200+ from just three of the decks - which are now listed.volantangel wrote:Prizes are up ! last couple of days to vote ! Re: 2015 Deck of the Year Contest
I don't think I saw Black Lions on any of the lists, I guess 2015 was pretty quiet for Blaine. I thought De'Vo came out with more decks than just the Cardistry decks in 2015, but I can't think of what they could've been off the top of my head.

Re: 2015 Deck of the Year Contest
Good catch on the Black Lions! I really wanted to talk about the hard choices, but since it's still open for a few more days (GET YOUR VOTES IN!) I'll hold off. For now I'll just say I found it hard to pick between decks in a lot of categories, my list was A or B or C and it was tough to pick just one. Thanks again for running this and major props to all the prize sponsors!

Re: 2015 Deck of the Year Contest
Yeah, I had a tough time between a few favorites and to put in my votes before deadline.
I almost was going to pass because it was that hard to pick.
I wish I could of put in top 3 choices in 1, 2 & 3 order.

Re: 2015 Deck of the Year Contest
It's been a great year! Kai & I agreed to take votes through Wednesday night, we had a couple people ask if they could still vote even over on Facebook, and felt it was reasonable.
That being the case, if anyone wants to shirt their vote, let us know by Wednesday!

I think my rough count was 29, but there has to be at least one duplicate / changed entry in there, possibly two? Upper 20's, at least.volantangel wrote:I believe there are approximately 20-25 entries this year?
