Re: 2015 Deck of the Year Contest - Winners !!!!
46 for me. Also better than last year. I was sure Branle would win for best Jokers and since I loved them I thought it was a sure win. I was surprised they didn't even place. Big goose egg there. Another surprise was Seasons didn't place for best coin and even though there were a lot of good coins this year, I thought Seasons was by far the best. Big goose egg number two.
Congrats to the winners.....

Re: 2015 Deck of the Year Contest - Winners !!!! (wap)
I'm figuring up 47 points. I was also surprised that the seasons coin didn't even place. I think seasons was slightly underrated this year.
Lorenzo had a magnificent year. I was a little disappointed that he wasn't in the top 3 for best series. I was almost certain that the number 17 crown edition would have locked for best tuck. Since he has another one coming out this year, hopefully, next year it will win. Congratulations!!!
Lotrek did quite well. If it hadn't have been for the unfortunate circumstances with ICONS(my apologies for re-opening a huge wound) , he would've been a lock for deck of the year and several other categories. Congrats on your winning categories.
While I'm not a huge fan of Giovanni, he did have quite a year. Congratulations!!!
Jackson had a great year with his tally to series. Congratulations!!!
I was really pleased to see Randy rack up several wins with cosmic bowling and draconians. Congratulations!!!
While I didnt back the Arcana project, it was by far the best KS campaign. Congratulations!!!
For all the other winners Congratulations!!! It was an amazing year and it keeps getting better every year.

Re: 2015 Deck of the Year Contest - Winners !!!!
It looks like 38 points for me. It's only my first year collecting and I missed out on a lot of decks (Heretic, for example). I had to go with what I was familiar. I'm just happy that I wasn't totally out of sync with everyone else. Congratulations to everyone that voted and thanks to everyone that donated prizes. Speaking of which, how do we choose our tiers?

Re: 2015 Deck of the Year Contest - Winners !!!!
Congrats to all the winners, all well-deserved. Here are some of my observations:
2015 was the year of Lorenzo, with 6 total 1st place votes, with Giovanni acquitting himself well with 4 total 1st place votes.
I felt Uusi had 2 great decks with Uusi Classic and BRuT, but they were shut out of any 1st place votes, which partially explains my relatively low point total with my ballot.
I kinda feel Seasons was overlooked as well.
I thought the No. 17 Crown Edition tuck box was a lock for Best Tuck Box. I can't believe I was wrong.
My biggest whiff was on Best Deck for Magic. For some reason, I completely forgot about Blaine's Black Lions deck....
If you voted for Omnia in every category, you would've still ended up with 33 points!
Seeing these results makes me realize how many strong decks came out in 2015.
Big thanks to Kai, Mike, and everyone else involved in producing the best playing cards contest in the world!

Re: 2015 Deck of the Year Contest - Winners !!!!
Well I've checked, double checked & even triple checked my score and I still get 47 points, pretty amazed for a first timer
Very surprised that Tendril Ascendant / Nightfall didn't get a few more votes. I guess it was so long ago most people forgot about it.
A big Congrats to all the winners and thanks to all the sponsors and to Mike & Kai for making this contest such a success.

Re: 2015 Deck of the Year Contest - Winners !!!!
Hi guys!
If my math came out right then I got a 48.
It was tough making these choices and was surprised that Kings and Crooks coin wasn't in the top 3 though my other choice would have been Seasons.
Thought Omnia qualified for Best Deck Series...
Anyhow good luck to everyone and thanks to everyone involved in making this contest and to all who donated prizes.

Re: 2015 Deck of the Year Contest - Winners !!!!
I counted 21 points for me. I'm a bit suprised that Heretic won, I voted Arcana but I was quite sure that Venexiana Dark would win Oh well. Also a bit suprised that Joker and the Thief didn't win the best Jokers category. And did anyone else vote Vellichor for the best pips or was I the only one?
I hope that I manage to get at least some reward with those 21 points, but I'm feeling that I will be among the best scores who don't get one

Congratulations to you both for in general kicking everybody else square in the rump! You obviously were neck & neck since Omnia tied with two different Stockholm17 decks in two subcategories.Thirdway Industries wrote:Hello guys!

My personal thanks - which I have already expressed to Kai ("volantangel" for newbies) for again - making UC look great yet again this year! All in all, after reviewing the tabulations, it was a great year! I know we're all anxious to see what coming (and we've already seen some _strong_ contenders) out that we'll be laying platitudes on next year! (tosses each a wreath of honor).
Feel free to grab the graphic and use as you like to promote your decks now and in the future! Thanks to Karin Yan for the minor update of last year's graphic since I seem to have misplaced the original source (yet again)... All in all, UC's "favorite sons" on Kickstarter pulled in 10 out of 16 subcategories (and overall) - not bad considering how hard the commercial groups pushed this year.

Congrats to all winners! Truly great decks. I'm surprised by two things: best uncut, which I thought was Vellichor and best crowd-funded campaign, which I thought was Spirit. It doesn't shock me so much that they didn't wind but that they didn't even place or show. I guess that just goes to show you how many good playing cards keep getting made!

Re: 2015 Deck of the Year Contest - Winners !!!!
So many great decks this year! All the winners are deserving and the choices were difficult. The hardest category for me was Best Courts. I truly wanted to vote equally for Arcana, Venexiana Dark, Heretic, No. 17, and The Coven.
Best Tuck Box was also difficult. With so many to choose from it's crazy that Delirium, the Hive 2 limited edition or Paul's 52 Plus Joker didn't place. I'm quite certain I was the only one who voted for Vintage Vampires for Best Pips but, I don't care. I think they were incredibly clever for the theme. Looks like 43 for me this year!

I voted Vellichor for best pips as I said abovevasta41 wrote:...I'm surprised by two things: best uncut, which I thought was Vellichor...
But speaking of Vellichor, is Dark Matter Kards still in business? The account hasn't been logged in since last year and Mat has not made any updates. I know that he was designing that pretty sweet looking space themed deck, but no updates about that for a while now. Damn shame if they are out of business, Vellichor was great and I was really digging that new comic styled space theme deck. Does anyone know anything?
Sorry for the off topic message, but this is bugging me as much as the never ending search for answers for the great question of "Are lobsters mermaids for scorpions?" If anyone knows anything about either of these things, let me and this forum know.

Now that you mention it, I should have voted for the Spirit deck for best crowd-funded campaign as well. They managed a very well designed deck with all of the bells and whistles at a such a low price point. I see what other equivalent decks are selling for nowadays and it just makes me shake my head and appreciate all the more what GW achieved with this deck.vasta41 wrote:Congrats to all winners! I have updated the prizes ! Last 2 days if anyone still wants to put in a couple more tiers ! Currently we have 22 tiers and 33 voters, thats crazy !
Donors, once again you have my sincere thanks for your immense generosity, please check if the prizes i have listed are correct, if not please leave a post, a moderator can fix that for you.
I will begin the detailed tabulation of individual scores in a couple of days, does anybody want to see the detailed score breakdowns (hopefully i have gotten them all right, pretty sure its not 100% tho) XD

No, actually they're not. If there is a tie for first, there is no 2nd place - only third (unless it's a 3-way tie, then neither).Talisman wrote:Tiers 4, 5, 13, & 21 are missing info.

Re: 2015 Deck of the Year Contest - Winners !!!!
Hi, first of all we want to congratulate every winner and to wish good luck in next 2016 year.Talisman wrote:Tiers 4, 5, 13, & 21 are missing info.
Regarding our (tier No.5) "Mystery brick" as someone said)) There are no info because we haven't told Mike what will be inside. Basically we wanted to place there all (most of all because some decks are sold out) of all decks that are produced by us. But we can agree which of our decks you want to see there) We'll be glad to satisfy you))

Re: 2015 Deck of the Year Contest - Winners !!!!
First of all, congratulations to all the winners, it was well deserved!
Second, THANK YOU to all the donnators, your generosity is much appreciated.
Third, thanks to Kai an Mike for organizing this contest.
Forth, thank you to all the voters, without your vote this contest would be meaningless.
And fifth, the results show how competitive this year was, I had some trouble electing my winners. One of the biggest surprises for me was the Seasons V2 playing cards that didn't win any of the categories, I thought it would easily win best back design, best uncut or best pips, I must confess I didn't vote for Seasons, but because I really thought it would win in the previous categories, so I decided to get my vote for the second or third place!! Guess I was wrong if I could go back I would vote for seasons for sure!.
The other surprise was that Omnia didn't win the Best Overall Deck (Heretic is also a great winner), I was really hoping it does, maybe this year Golden Age will take the place!
