From what I have seen so far, I think this deck would do fine all on its own. The fact that we as a group will be backing it in force it has little issue funding.

"Coming soon to a kickstarter near you", and that's a fact. We're thinking maybe around the 10th or so (Mondays always seem to be good 'launch' days).

Is everybody ready? Lotrek is working on the KS campaign funding page, and we're looking at about 9 days. Maybe we should start a countdown? I'm not even going to ask for suggestions for running a campaign, but we're always ears... ;^)

These cards look great. I love the simple black and white. The ace of spades is brilliant. I know this may seem late in the game but is there anything that I can do to help? other than help fund that is ( which I fully tend on doing lol) Wow these cards look great! Can not wait to get my hands on them.

I think what he means is "In most cases it is a bad idea to launch a campaign with only a few cards." With all the Kickscammers out there this has been a big indication.

Yes, for now it's a "Global Announcement" so it shows up no matter which sub-forum of the board you are in - for now. While the campaign is active (or rather until it is and until it's finished) it will stay here, then we'll likely move it to the "New Card" forum or a sub-forum of that portion of the board.

I also just added a new "what I did today" message as another "Global Announcement", titled "New hosting, SiteLock, CodeGuard and RapidSSL by GeoTrust", which everybody might want to take a peek at when they have time. It's a done deal, but I like everybody to be informed of decisions I make regarding UC.

As this project came unexpectedly and it had to be launched the soonest possible, there will be some cards to be completed during the campaign. But definitely we won't launch it with just a few cards.
Although I don't think that someone can seriously think of me or UC as scammers.

I'm not certain when Lotrek will flip the switch, but we're going for Monday (this Monday, the 10th) for launch. I'll let him do the tease, I'm an amateur at Kickstarter projects. 32 day funding period, so ends on the 15th of March, aiming for May delivery probably.

It's going to be a whirlwind project, as Lotrek takes us through the design phase for each element of the deck, and the theme is played out serially, through each new reveal. It's his style, and shows the minutia of the project at the lowest possible level. It's like being walked through the design phase yourself.

Updated the OP to reflect the funding status, or rather at this point that it's coming on this Monday, 10-February-2014. Lotrek will advise us of the publication time.

Let's all show up and make this deck a funding success from the word 'go', folks! We're likely looking at a minimum funding of $15,000 to do this right, because we know you lose 9-10% to KS + Amazon Payments, and you also lose 4-7% (I've seen one project report 9%) fallout during processing by Amazon Payments. That means likely $25,000 would yield about $20,000 in actuality after fees. We don't have specifics as far as cost per deck, but I would think $12-$13 for a single deck will be about right. I am taking a huge royalty of Lotrek's artwork & design, and those funds will remain in my separate account for UC and related expenses.

With the current user "Friends of UC" monthly contributions and this income from the yearly deck, UC will be forever free of funding problems! We can even grow double, quadruple, whatever multiple might be seen. I've seen 50 simultaneous online recently. Our current hosting package supports unlimited bandwidth, and we're strictly text-based, with the exception of some (binary) images, those don't compress well, but the only account for about 5-6% of the total on the forums, which is > 95% text.
