It's kind of a shame these aren't really my style, because she's obviously put a lot of thought and effort into them. I actually really enjoy the tightness of the pip layout on the ten, and the color scheme is endearing.
Does anybody have a deck by this printer (JJPC)? How's it handle?

I might buy these for my mother and my grandmother.
As Merlebird said, the artist actually put time and effort into these, but they also aren't my kind of deck (despite having 2 cats).
Edit: F^&* it. I'm gonna pledge 6 and keep 4 for myself.

Love the deck, but the only JD14 decks I have (Geometricks) have an absolute garbage finish on them that almost immediately started clumping. Maybe it's gotten better since, but I'm not super excited to spend money to find out.

Re: Hoody Deck of Playing Cards: Live on KS
As much as I'd love to have a good-to-great handling deck, @ $7/deck shipped (half brick), it won't bother me much. The theme is cute, the artwork is very good, and some people that I know (mostly the girls) will enjoy these more than my signature Lotrek decks.vedus wrote:Love the deck, but the only JD14 decks I have (Geometricks) have an absolute garbage finish on them that almost immediately started clumping. I honestly don't back many "cheap" projects, because I do have an expectation for artistry/theme execution, correct printer for the job, handling, tucks, etc. This campaign just panders to the 'right' part of me I guess. I could use some decks that my friends aren't afraid of spilling drinks on, too...

These don't look bad at all but the only reason is get these would be as gifts for nieces or something.
Feeding the addiction one deck at a time.

That would be much appreciated. I checked the shipping cost after already implying it was a done deal and she wasn't terribly impressed when I told her no.

Re: Hoody Deck of Playing Cards: Live on KS
Spreading the love of playing cards to the next generations is important. If a fellow collector's kid is interested in even just 1 deck, then I am happy to help. That overall price is insane. Almost the same cost as a half-brick shipped within the US. I might actually pledge for a brick just in case others are dissuaded by these shipping costs, too.vedus wrote:That would be much appreciated. Hey TwoPiece, did you end up pledging for a brick? This is such an adorable deck but I also passed up on pledging due to shipping; Now taking a second look at them, I'd be interested in a deck if you have one to spareTwoPieceFeed wrote: Spreading the love of playing cards to the next generations is important. I have one deck. The cheapest option would be for me to ship it with the Mercury and Venus decks and TwoPiece mail a deck to me. That way it is just one international package. I have been advised my Mercury decks have shipped.

Re: Hoody Deck of Playing Cards: Live on KS
The cards on this deck certainly turned out very cute.
The deck was advertised as being printed by JJPC, which is now known as WJPC.
The artwork is very charming, and the cards fan nicely out of the book. They used a laser cut, however, so it's neither a traditional nor a modern cut, and as a result the cards don't faro easily. But bear in mind that this was produced in 2018, and since then WJPC have really upped their game and improved their quality.

What other WJPC decks were also laser cut like this?EndersGame wrote: ↑Wed Jul 27, 2022 3:03 amThey used a laser cut, however, so it's neither a traditional nor a modern cut, and as a result the cards don't faro easily.

Re: Hoody Deck of Playing Cards: Live on KS
The NEO Ltd deck. See this thread and the subsequent explanation by montenzi about what happened with the NEO Ltd deck and why it wasn't cut in the regular way.
Like the Hoody deck, the NEO Ltd deck was printed by WJPC in 2018. I suspect that the same thing happened with both decks, which is why you can't faro either of them.
Aside from that, the Hoody Deck itself looks great.
You can see full scans of all the cards from the deck here:
