Perhaps it's time to get with the times?

Could you not have spent an extra 10 seconds to think of a way of saying this that was less negative?

Besides which, the site is responsive - it already looks and runs great on mobile through the browser... I think it would be a waste of resource to package up the same thing as an app.

IMO obviously.

I know one of the reason Alex really wanted to change platforms was because this was supposed to support mobile so much better than the prior ones. However, due to lack of budget and what I can only assume other reason, it never had a proper managed test phase. As a result, there are some issues with mobile like when trying to display details of a deck, etc, but browsing seems to work just fine.

So yeah, I doubt a full mobile app is in the plans, but hopefully he'll be able to come back and fix the issues with mobile in a browser.

Victor - If you can list your exact concerns or why you prefer an app it may be something he would consider. Personally I'm an app guy myself too, but given the costs and especially ongoing costs for support and updates to multiple platforms I can't blame him if he just sticks with the mobile browser approach.

I use Tapatalk for mobile access to UC, I highly recommend it.

I don't see why you'd even need a mobile app ... it's super expensive to build and maintain, and it doesn't offer anything substantial that isn't offered through other means (Tapatalk or mobile browser).

In short, a mobile app would be high cost, low reward.

I program via the Android app, I can only set "Once" or "Daily" in repetitions. I program via the web interface, I have far more options.
Would it not be possible, even by APP to have the same opportunities in the repetitions as in the web interface?

I looked into mobile apps and have been really wanting to do one but for a volunteer project I think the scope might be out of reach for the moment. The best avenue now is basically to create a site that is just ridiculously mobile friendly. I think I was in denial about it for a while hoping to find an app creator within budget but legitimately all the quotes I was getting were $50K low end to no joke $300K and that wasn't including the ongoing maintenance or the fact that I would essentially need to create 2 apps to support both android and apple phones.

TLDR; People like using the site on mobile. I'm going to make sure the new site is mobile friendly. Right now though due to budget phone apps are currently not on the current build list.
