Re: 4 Thrones Playing Cards now live on Kickstarter
I think I'm going to start a kickstarter for the ultimate minimalist deck with white on white printing. LE black on black deck. That's exactly what I thought when I saw the backs for the two Limited Editions. Besides, the non-limited deck won't work for poker or anything else but the accompanying g...

Re: Carbon Fiber Playing Cards
From his perspective - if he leaves the original EB levels available and 50+50 there now move up to the Red or Blue EB he makes, then it allows 100 people who already pledged but weren't early to grab those original slots and costs him $3000, effectively negating the benefit of offering the new leve...

The "Core" deck comes to mind, but I didn't back it. Did anyone ever see those delivered other than by ebay? As far as worst campaigns, I think we're onto a new low with the "Vampire and Zombies Deck" from the guy with "The Vampyre Society". I'm sure everybody's in the ...

@sly: Question about the answer you gave for stretch goals: we're not going to be able to add $30 to get the red or blue threaded decks? I understand that they cost more, but it seems like those of us that got in on the ground level shouldn't have to give up our "Early Bird" slots and go ...

Re: New Sherlock Holmes Deck by Jackson Robinson
These days it's also all too easy for people to defend him and not hold him up to the same scrutiny that we give to the big boys like D&D and Theory 11, just because he's the flavor of the week. True, it's his blood, sweat and tears that designed the cards, but we as supporters made it possible...

These days it's all too easy for us to see (and "dun-dun-duhhhh") monitor what he's doing. I really don't think it's any of our business what he does with his decks. $175 vs $180 - I'll live. Not my place to judge, it's his blood, sweat and tears that made them. As far as the stretch goal ...

9 out of 10 (99%?) of the time after a Kickstarter project the artist has his hands full and money invested he'd like to get out, which is why resellers are used to getting them at a bulk rate. How many decks sold to KS backers are now available cheaper from them? Quite often. In this case, Jackson ...

Re: New Sherlock Holmes Deck by Jackson Robinson
I also don't get Jackson's contempt for resellers. Buying in bulk and then selling at a profit is not an unusual business practice. There's a fine line between contempt and disdain for "eating my lunch". In Jackson's case, he's already got the logistics down for handling distribution hims...

Well, you can't fault Jackson for doing what the market allows. They were going for around $60-$70 per deck on eBay until they showed up for $50 several places. Now the guys on eBay have adjusted. I think they will go back up when he runs out. I did see them on GGS for $49.95 I think it was. Actuall...

Eoghan nailed it. With Fed 52 Part Deux, the LE decks started out as just a different tuck but eventually got their own backs, it's quite possible that this will go along the same lines. Though, it's also possible that it won't, in which case it becomes a very big chip when getting a trade sorted. ...
