Seronda Sentiments & Verana Virtues by Seasons Playing Cards

Unread post by Thedissident001 »

Alex Chin / Seasons Playing Cards have announced via FB a new Kickstarter campaign launching 1/18 2:00pm CST for the latest instalment in the Apothecary range, Seronda Sentiments. Comments suggest gilded will again be available, this time with matching lavender application.

I really like the colors of the back design. Alex does great tucks court cards as well so this is looking like a real winner.

I like the first one very much,
but for the second one, I think the rose in the middle is a bit off from other design.
Other parts around the rose is perfect, only the rose i think it could be better.
Just my opinion anyways.

I agree with this. The white deck back falls short in comparison with the black deck. Part of it may be design, and part is due to the colors. The black deck has three colors (not including black & white) with purple, red, and gold while the white deck is just red and gold. Having said this, the white deck is still good, just not great like the black deck.

If you are a US backer its actually cheapest to pledge for one standard deck and then add on each of the other 3 decks (including LTD) due to shipping cost. In fact the cost of pledging ignoring shipping is a dollar cheaper if you start with two standard decks and add on the LTD. Seems like a strange little mistake to me.

I am in. I managed to pick up one of the last EB cabinet of curiosities. That tier is already sold out. That plus some add-ons got rather expensive, but well worth it given what I have seen Alex produce.

I'm only in for a Virtue deck. I'll like to see a mock up the red oak cabinet if it'll be unlocked or not.

Story of my life lol. I feel like I have something wrong with every KS I launch. Organization is not my strong suit  I'm sure a statistician would have a pretty straight solution for this but realistically I sort of price things based on having the tier absorb the base cost with the add ons being less so. I typically like to go a little shy than too heavy handed on shipping estimates for add ons. The only shipping I really worry about is international + add ons. I still get a large handful each time that create some unexpected order sequence that puts me out of pocket.

Regarding the Red Oak stretch goal, it'll be unlocked once we get fully funded. I have a fully proofed box ready for showing off on the next update. I acknowledge it was a strange roundabout to offer the gilded without the boxes first, but I wanted to show the gilded in the video but also didn't want to release EVERYTHING out the gate so this was my haphazard solution. Hopefully you guys agree with these sentiments...

Oh and also HUGE CONGRATULATIONS Paul! Is it the first or second addition to the family? PM your address and I'll send over a little something your way (card related) for the baby shower.

Thank you so much Alex but you don't have to give us anything! Plus, I already have almost all of your decks lol Except this time I could only go in on a basic 2 pack but I can't wait for them to come in! I have the other color changing tucks and I like them but it's either too hot or too cold in my house for them to work like they do in the demo video.

*shakes fist in rage*
That was you!?!

I was literally moments behind you.

But yes, it's true. Alex's cards are magnificent -- He's one of the designers on my insta-back list. And I'd just like to let you guys know, I was in a specialist cardistry shop recently, saw Alex's 2015 Magna Carta decks, just the Rebels and Royals [2 of each] for $200. Glad I got in early, with 2x gold KJ decks + the box!

I didn’t take the last EB cabinet spot, I was the third our fourth to final spot. However, it sold out not long after I made my pledge. You have to be fast sometimes.

Paul, that's New England weather for you. I have similar problem too in CT but cold house makes the color change work better. I think the green, not pink, deck has better visual color change too. I forgot the tuck colors and didn't look before posting.

I had the same problem that I think most backers did; trying to use the effect shortly after delivery (when it was really warm or really cold outside). I keep my place at a nice 66 degrees year-round and they respond as well as Alex's video. I really can't wait for the new ones.

Oh, Mr. Chin, you're well passed funded now. How about those other nice cabinets..? :D

Seriously, with the 4-deck Seasons box, the Magna Carta mural box, and soon-to-be 4 Cabinets of Curiosity, Alex and Mr. Robinson are the easy attractions in my collection (I have the 5 Federal 52 uncut sheets all framed).
