Funny, it says only 1 left but when I added 2 to my cart, it accepted it. Wouldn't you want to block that from happening if indeed there was only 1 available? Could cause some confusion. Of course, there could be another explanation...

Talisman wrote:$1K for 1 deck....need I say more?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/EPCC-David-Blai ... Swxp9W3FJT
Funny story:

I posted above market value to receive the best payment available. I got a few offers from a super low-baller who sent a message and claimed, "I own more than a few of these and this deck isn't worth close to what you're asking for", put nicely (my first return offer was $500). IMO not good business to piss off a seller that has something you want...

The deck sold to a buyer that offered me $800.

Morale of the story: If you don't ask you may never know the answer. In this case, if you could make more money, you'll never know if you don't ask for more.

Any reason why he would put such a high price?

Dunno. You can get the same deck for $9.50, though.

It actually stated 12 decks on the description. So $95 for 12 decks is pretty reasonable

It looks like he previously sold them for $4.86 each. It would be quite a nice surprise if someone decided to pay the "vacation price" while he was gone. Would probably pay for his whole trip!

$1,500 lol:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Branle-Tesoro- ... 0033.m2042

Granted, the Branle Tesoros are nice decks, but IMO you're a fool if you pay more than $200 for one of these.

You'd know better than I. Fontaines and Gatorbacks aren't really my bag, so I don't know what price point they usually command. I've only been in the hobby long enough to know that "almost two thousand dollars" was not the correct answer.

I personally wouldn't pay more than $500, but that comes to $20/deck and I know fanboys will pay big money for those crappy decks, I mean Fontaines.

You tell me which thread this one belongs in. I guess technically it comes out to USD7.5 shipped per deck, but who's going to buy five+ gross split bricks of random modern decks from a seller with a feedback score of zero?

I messaged this guy once on another auction and asked about pricing negotiation. He got upset, 4 letter words and all. Hes probably upset he spent too much on something he is not well informed of.

A five-figure USD asking price? For a listing that has:
  • No picture of the backs?
  • No mention of any tuck/box?
  • A corner tear on the KoS?
  • A set of spot cards that may or may not include each number for each suit (given that the pictures are unclear)?
And they don't even throw in shipping!

Well, that is a strong asking price. I think I will pass on it.

I suggest a card speculator snap it up and repost it for double the price. Easy money.

The seller has been on eBay since 2011 with 400+ transactions and a 100% rating. Now has just a few crazy items for sale. That is fishy.

PipChick, you are not dealing with someone that is playing with a full deck....Sorry, but I couldn’t help myself.

Seriously, they are obviously inexperienced. Assuming this deck does sell for that kind of amount at auction (a big assumption on my part), it is also because the buyer knows the auction house has had the cards carefully authenticated by an expert to make sure it is not a forgery and it’s condition is properly represented. For anything that expensive, expert forgery is a real risk.

i like this deck..not at that price though... i would pay between £50-£80
slightly off with their dates though, printed between 1880-1890.
would have been paper wrapped ,so no tuck box
