FUNDING CARD PROJECTS

Unread post by JacksandJokers »

Earlier today I was torn between backing a KS project or not and I'm curious to what the general consensus is given the same circumstances.

The project in question was the Bicycle Lightning decks from Bocopo.
With approx. 30 minutes to the deadline the project still needed around $2,000HKD ($250USD) to fund.

I had the money to do it but couldn't justify spending that much on a deck that was at best mediocre.
In the end it funded anyway but If it had failed would I have been wrong to deny this deck ever being brought to life.

Would you intentionally upgrade your pledge to ensure a mediocre deck was funded if it was that close to its funding goal :?:

No. That deck is awful. Same background lightning on each card plus each suit pip was identical. If they varied the backgrounds and pips I would have pledged.
Move on, nothing to see here.

It's a toss up. You could end up enabling am unintentional rip-off by funding it.

As Tom noted, if it is a superior deck I would consider it, but then again - if it is a superior deck, hopefully crowd thinking would have funded it anyway.

This one is not likely to be abandoned, but what if it was a new artist who never funded a deck? (and it ended up just barely getting funded, when obviously it needed more)

We have seen decks with last minute miracle funding. I don't remember specifically, but I am almost certain that at least one of those never got made. Anyone remember?
