Agenda Playing Cards by Flagrant Agenda: Now Live on KS

Unread post by flagrantagenda »

Hi all,

We posting here for the first time and we are excited to share about a project, the Agenda Playing Cards, that we will be launching on Kickstarter tomorrow, 18 April at 9am EST. The central concept of the deck is social change and transformation and the design is heavy on symbolism with an overall monotone color scheme. We are currently looking at a white deck with spot UV printing and custom numbered seal with the possibility of upgrading to an embossed tuck case and adding a black deck.

We are posting renderings of the decks below for your viewing pleasure. Hope that you guys like our concept and design and check out our Kickstarter campaign tomorrow. We will be offering early bird promotions so do pledge early if you like our cards to enjoy the promotions.

So far I like what I see.
Great back design. Great indices. Great pips. Great courts. Great ace there. Not a bad tuck.
I'd like to see the numbered cards and then I think the art will be squared away as a win for me.

Printer is definitely now the highest priority question. Followed closely thereafter by price.

Thank you for the compliment!

The lack of eyes in our court cards expresses the lack of truth, honesty, wisdom and moral conscience we sometimes see in authority – the Kings, Queens and Princes of our society – and why there is an impetus for a call for change.

Hi all

We wish to start off by thanking fellow UC members for their support for Agenda Playing Cards on Kickstarter. We have reached our funding goal and managed to unlocked our first stretch goal. WHITE AGENDA will be coming with embossed tuck cases. We are now looking at trying our best to achieve our second stretch goal, one that allow us to release our deck with a new and exciting colour scheme, the BLACK AGENDA.

Here’s a shot of the tuck case of both the embossed WHITE and BLACK AGENDA.

We will be updating the campaign with more pictures of BLACK AGENDA. Do visit our campaign on Kickstarter to get more updates on Agenda Playing Cards. If BLACK AGENDA appeals to you, pledge and help us make BLACK AGENDA a reality.

Cheers,

I think the Black Agenda deck would be more appealing if the roses on the tuck were red, along with the word "Agenda". In other words, all the black elements on the White tuck should be red on the Black tuck. This would make both the tucks more consistent in their design.

hi sinjin7

Thank you for the valuable feedback. We agree with you that the red roses will make the deck more appealing as well as more consistent with WHITE AGENDA. We have actually considered that before but made the tentative decision to stick to more monotone for BLACK AGENDA but now with your feedback, we will seriously reconsider this again.

Cheers,

Excellent! I love it when a designer comes here with an open mind and takes seriously the suggestions they see here.

For what it's worth, I wholeheartedly agree with sinjin7's proposal. Going for the red roses on the black tucks would make these sing.

I think I also like this idea, would love to see a mockup.

I'm surprised this is doing well. Too bland for me but nice to have a deck that you line funded (and to be delivered on time).

Hi rousselle and shaitani

Thanks for affirming what sinjin7 has suggested! And yes, we sincerely welcome feedback and would definitely take them into consideration when they are feasible to do so. We are in the process of exploring various colour scheme options with our tuck case as well as our card back and court cards. Once we have something out, we will definitely post an update here with some mock ups.

Cheers,

We are also pleasantly surprised with the support we are getting for the deck. Since the project is funded and have reached the first stretch goal, we will do our best to ensure that we provide what our backers want to them as timely as possible. Many of them have expressed interest in BLACK AGENDA so that is something for us to strive for for the rest of the campaign.

From the update on the kickstarter, they took sinjin7's advice, and I think it looks amazing:

Hi shaitani

Thanks for the shout out and support! We tried out different colour schemes after the suggestions by the few of you who commented and included red not just to the tuck case but to different elements of the card back and court cards. Glad that turn out well.

Let's hope we can reach our 2nd stretch goal and unlock BLACK AGENDA.

Yep! We like the 'pop out' effect on the tuck case a lot too! The red on the card back and court cards is a lot more subtle, hopefully in a good way.

That looks like a good improvement!

I understand that you might want the red on the backs to be more subtle, and I feel like the shade you chose accomplishes that, but I wouldn't mind a bit more red on it. Maybe the 3 stars on both short sides, or something in the triangles in the outer middle, or a combination? Having red only in the center feels a bit incomplete to me.

Hi MagikFingerz

Sorry we didn't catch your comment earlier!

Glad that the improvement was appealing to you. We agree with you to a certain extent than more red accents would be nice. After a healthy debate internally (2 weeks ago!), we decided to stick to the current offering to avoid making too many changes to the design.

Thanks again for the comment!

We are happy to share that all the stretch goals for Agenda Playing Cards have been unlocked. Mini decks, uncut sheets and t-shirts are also available as add-ons. The end of the campaign is less than 48 hours away. If you like what we are offering and wishes to support the project, do remember to do so before the end of the campaign as this will be a limited release with no reprint.
