Re: Masterpieces Playing Cards - Kickstarter
Similar to the Black Rock Collective decks, cool. Too weird for me though.
But they sure are art of works

I love these decks. I'm in for a deck and uncut.
Feeding the addiction one deck at a time.

Not a fan of the tuck, I don't think it represents what's inside at all.
But I do like the art-on-every-card type of decks.
I picked up a couple of decks for now, I'll re-assess whether to get the uncut again a little later.

Re: Masterpieces Playing Cards - Kickstarter
the pictures in the campaign of the deck with splashes of paint over it look really good, and I kinda wish they actually had that design on the tuck. The plain blue tuck as it actually is however is pretty disappointing. I like the back design a lot though and art on every card although completely unplayable is a thing I tend to like so im backing this one.

Haha, I was thinking the same thing. In that sense, making it look "worse" would have made it look better.JuFiN wrote:the pictures in the campaign of the deck with splashes of paint over it look really good, and I kinda wish they actually had that design on the tuck.

Re: Masterpieces Playing Cards - Kickstarter
I would say VERY disappointing. In fact it may be the reason I don't back this. Why make a beautifully designed deck that is so far my vote for use of best colors in the 2017 DOTY contest and hide it in that plain old, boring tuck? I really REALLY wish the tuck reflected the beautiful colors inside.JuFiN wrote:The plain blue tuck as it actually is however is pretty disappointing.

Re: Masterpieces Playing Cards - Kickstarter
All the text around the vines, branches and leaves seems totally out of context. Bad tuck, yep.

It mentions that Si Scott is a/the designer, but I wonder if that applies only for the Ace of Spades, because the rest of the deck doesn't seem to be in his style? That AoS can fit right in with any of the Smoke & Mirror decks, although it would say "Buck" instead of "Love" in that case. . .

Re: Masterpieces Playing Cards - Kickstarter
Unfortunately the tuck is here to stay These decks are already printed and ready to ship...how else would they be able to deliver in May with a UPSCC deck? What I actually like about the Bocopo decks is their cost...low to start and even lower with multiple decks. Though I rarely get them, I am definitely in for an uncut, only 29 including shipping
A deck a day helps keep the addiction at bay!

Re: Masterpieces Playing Cards - Kickstarter
This is kind of annoying...
I'm in the US, I pledged for some number of decks, then added an uncut as per the add-on list which says extremely clearly "US Free Shipping", so I added the $19.
Now that the campaign is over, Bocopo is asking for shipping costs of $10 for the uncut.
I'm sure it can be explained why this is the case (separate shipping, etc... whatever), but the add-on list could not have been clearer, and I even sent them a message at the time saying "Hey, I'm at this pledge and I added $19 for the uncut, just confirming with you", they responded with "Thanks for the support".
Like, how much more due diligence do I need to do before pledging for your campaign?
It's not even the $10 that's an issue, it's just that I followed instructions and then some, and I still have to pay surprise charges.
This has left a sour taste in my mouth with these guys.
