Hey guys,
Many of you are probably familiar with this site already, but I just found out about it, and have been collecting Playing Cards for 5+ years. I am still looking around, but like some of what I see and thought I would share it for anyone that isn't familiar

Wow! This guy's work is beautifully done. However, the cards are quite different as far as your typical Poker style deck goes. I think if he designed a Poker style deck incorporating his amazing art work, he'd make a ton of sales.

From what I can tell looking through a lot of these, many of them are bridge sized, but I think I will pick up a few, some really nice artwork. The deck specs fall into typical makeplayingcards.com verbiage, I reached out to him asking after the printer and will let you guys know if I hear back

Hey Justin, if you are trying to get out of collecting, why are you still searching for new decks

But seriously, thanks for the link, these are beautiful decks and I look forward to finding out what you hear :ugdance:

I just like to think if I keep saying it I will slowly stop spending money on decks

Poker K25 is very interesting. Nice find Justin. You still have the bug my friend. I think, like me, it's going to be with you for a very long time. When you have it figured out, let me know the secret. ;)

So I got this response this AM. Looks like there might be a bit of variation to the quality depending, but it was a great, thorough response and I am going to invite Neil to the forum to join the convo if he wants.

"Hi Justin

I’ve used two companies:

Cartamundi, who are based in Belgium – they are very much the premium printers in the industry and definitely offer the best quality product, but they’re very expensive if you’re only printing a limited run.

Wangjing Shenzhen Printing Co in China – they’re much, much cheaper and also deliver a quality product but you DO need to constantly keep on top of things as your project’s progressing. I’ve worked with them a lot and have encountered some communication problems that have resulted in mistakes being made… as long as you check absolutely everything every step of the way, they’re ok but you have to keep constantly alert. I also have a few issues with the fidelity of their colour repro and have had to redesign / tweak cards quite a lot to get the final colours I want - which has been time consuming and at times severely annoying.

Best wishes

Neil

I found a website that sells Malpertuis' poker and bridge decks for 29,75 USD per deck. Poker and Bridge.

Malpertuis did some of the best looking tarot decks I have ever seen, shame he didn't do more poker decks. His website is no longer working so I assume he isn't designing anymore.

This thread caught my eye. Malpertuis is the title of a book of a Belgian author: Jean Ray.
If you love Edgard Allan Poe you should definitely try that book...

That is truly sad news :( ...I was lucky enough to get some of his decks when Justin first posted about them.
