Royal Reserve, Jeremy Griffith and Ellusionist?

Unread post by anwar »

I saw this sweet deck on Insta : https://www.instagram.com/p/BQDnNnJAd5o ... elus&hl=en" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Jeremy posted this, but he also mentioned Ellusionist with his hashtags...

Anyone here who knows more about this deck?

It seems to be part of the Republic playing cards.
Really put off by the word "reserve". I know it's not quite "private reserve" but its like none of the big boys have access to a thesaurus.

While the Sultans decks didn't really do it for me (and if they were a new deck today, I wouldn't even bother with them), the Republic No. 2 were favorites of mine for a while. The full bleed backs and the small indexes right up against the edges, coupled with really smooth handling, made those a joy to just fan and spread and admire. These new ones look like they may be continuing along the lines of Republic No. 2. If so, I'm going to be all over them. Om nom nom.

Now available with the typical Ellusionist bullshit where you have to buy 12 to get the special one free. Needless to say if anyone wants any I'll be selling some extras, $8 plus shipping. I don't know why they can't just sell us the deck while also offering it as a freebie.

I like these. Probably because Madison has nothing to do with them. Question- I saw that it says "Republic Collection" on the tuck. Does that mean it's part of the Republic, Sultan, and No. 2 deck series?

I have some of the "special" black decks coming in next week. Would anyone like some at $20 shipped in the US?

EDIT: Looks like my "in" fell through, no black ones folks. But they sure do look good.

I liked the Sultans, I thought they had one of the best tucks E has ever produced. The Republic No. 2 is one of my favorite full-bleed back designs, but the indices were too small for me, hard to read the flop for Texas Holdem poker. These Royal Reserve look like bordered, gold versions of the No. 2 with different courts and pips. I wish they kept the full-bleed back, but good looking nonetheless.

I don't know why anyone still gripes about this, the answer is simple: E does this to get people to buy more decks so they can make more MONEY. Its as simple as that, and they'll keep doing it because it works for them. I stopped putting value on E's "limited" editions after they liquidated their stock of "limited" decks last year. There's no point in paying a lot of money for their "limited" decks when they're just going to undercut their value by blowing them out like they do.

For those who already did not get this deck for free, Jeremy Griffith posted on Instagram last night that he is releasing the rest of his Private Reserve Black decks to the public for $20 on Ellusionist secret store. All you have to do is comment on Jeremy Instagram account post about his new baby boy with the #babyboy and he will send you the link
https://www.instagram.com/lost_angelus/

1700 decks available that is quite the private reserve.... seems more like ooooops what the heck do I do with 1700 decks. Originally pointed out by our new member limited edition aka Gene

1,700 stock decks and renaming them "private Reserve" is ridiculous.

The $20 price tag + Shipping is even more ridiculous for a tuck swap.

The playing card industry is going down hill fast, but you wouldn't think so with all this garbage being released lately.

Again, nothing impressive to justify putting this into my collection.

PASS!

PS. Cheers to Jeremy's new born. I'm sure this latest release is to help offset the new and forthcoming expenses of having a child.

I didn't care, at all, about the "Private Reserve" deck. Thank lord I didn't go for a brick or any independent sales on eBay, etc.

I was drawn to the design for this deck, but the absolutely non-existent "border control" by USPCC/Ellusionist make the entirety of this deck a waste IMO.

What was the point of the secret link thing if you are putting it on sale for everyone anyway a few days later... Someone put me on to another secret link for another deck that is forthcoming in February and again not sure what purpose it serves. No one will buy a brick because the link is secret...... or will they hahahaha
