Now that I can see and compare the backs throughout the series, I kinda like what they're doing here. I still think they're missing opportunities by not having the blurred (implying shaky) volcano backs or twisted Tornado / Hurricane backs, but even so. It's more interesting now seeing the progression. I'm still sitting this out for now, but if the price is right, I can see picking these up at some point down the road.

You must be seeing something I'm not. What ARE they doing here? Genuinely not a rhetorical or condescending question.

Other than the Blizzard back being slightly more spiky/icicle-y, and the Hurricane back having a somewhat spiralling center element, they all look extremely similar to me with only very minor alterations.

I'm with Tom here. I have no need for this series but it's certainly not the worst out there. I've said it before and I'll say it again- I wish E would continue their "elements" series (Ignite, Fathom) :(

I would've got the Tornado deck if they weren't lazy on the courts.

I've given this a bit of thought, and I've come to the conclusion that you're right. What I saw / see is subtle. But, really, it's too subtle. I still like the progression more than any one stand alone deck, but given the pricing... yeah, I'm going back from "sitting this out for now" to "sitting this out."

And, the faces... yeah, the faces are really not doing it for me. Again, an interesting idea, but a lot of missed opportunity here.

It's too bad they don't run some of these project through here for feedback the way GW does.

Alas.

I received my Volcano deck and like it very much, forget the rest.
