Beautiful back... but it ends there for me. $10 would be worth it but $15 is too much for semi-standard courts and a non-embossed or foiled tuck. Not to mention the cost of the other 2 decks.

I resemble that remark my friend ... You don't know what those rolling eyes meant [BACON] [MURRAY]

I've never been particularly clear on the relationship between HOPC and TBC, but I've always had them kinda intertwined in my mind, and have not been feeling the warm fuzzies from either in a little while. I do like the look of the backs here, but that's not quite enough at this point to pull the money out of my wallet. The pricing is okay-ish if you order at quantity, but I'm also shying away from long-lead pre-orders and KS these days.

Not sure why this project is KS instead of a more "normal" release from HOPC/TBC. If the issue is that they are not as liquid as they used to be, well... I'm not, either, and I'm increasingly resistant to tying up my money in projects that may or may not be fulfilled a few months down the road.

Nice looking decks, but i won't back it because the campaign turns me off.
All 3 decks + a DVD i don't need = 70 $ + international shipping for 3 decks =20$ is a total of 90$ !!!
90 $ for 3 decks without foil (not even on the tuck) or anything else exciting ---> No thanks

from the KS campaign:
The Visa Experience will be something SECRET for now, but rest assured, this deck is only the beginning. Suffice it to say that there will be a great deal to Discover, Journey through, and ultimately escape to your own magical place…something we all strive for day to day.
Anyone think that this will be a marked deck?

Some strange value claims in the campaign:

The $100 brick tier asserts that it's a "$175 value."

It includes 12 of the blue decks, valued elsewhere on the page at $10 each + one of the white decks, which are sold as add-ons for $25. That looks like a $145 "value" if you accept their model, so where $175 comes from is a real mystery.

Sorry Alex, this deck is not KS-worthy in todays saturated market. This deck's only selling point - the back design's pattern - while lovely, isn't enough to even interest me at $10. Much less $15. In my eyes, a deck like this is just one step above NOCs, and thus not worth much more than them.

I also agree that this entire campaign is off-putting.
We wanted to give everyone who backs this project a chance of actually getting their hands on a Private Reserve deck without having to spend a certain amount.
But they have no problem bundling the red deck with a DVD. If people actually wanted to buy that DVD, they wouldn't have to bundle it with a deck.

Nothing special about the "Private Reserve" other than the back design color to justify the $25 price tag.

HUGE pass for me.

 I agree. These decks don't look bad at all but nothing really stands out. The days of paying more money for a simple recolor with no perks are over!

I'm pretty sure it's named after a travel visa. Anyway with $15 shipping for just 1 deck and double for all 3, no thanks. He charges like $8 shipping on his site why is it so much more on KS other than laziness to figure out rates.

I also don't know why Patrick Kun or anyone would get involved with Alex.

No, $75 domestic. You have to add $5 for shipping.

This comment was made on the project by Patrick K

currently we are only printing a limited run of the RED which is why we are giving away for FREE in the DVD package and the $200 package which will give you 3 x decks. Later on after the campaign, they may later be sold in store worldwide. Hope this makes sense. Thanks!

Looks like Red will surely be available after the fact

I agree. No way are they printing less than 1000 of them. Unless, it's with MPC and that would severely shoot them in the door.

In which case, why would you consider pledging through KS now? They'll almost definitely be available for less in the future if you do want them.
Patrick's comment alone has extinguished any thought I had.

the Red VISA deck is now available to pledge for in its own tier for the last 2 days of the campaign. HOWEVER it's only sold as a brick for $100... cheaper to get the DVD tier, no??

At this point it's cheaper to get nothing and just buy all three in the future :ugdance: :ugdance:

I think it's cheaper to buy nothing and keep it that way when it comes to this deck :D This is so meh that it went and removed the previous definition of meh from a dictionary and put itself on it's place, however this deck couldn't even make the owerthrowing of the previous King of meh interesting thus proving that it is in fact the mehiness of mehs among mehs.

The back is somewhat nice. Meh.

I just have a single EB blue. Since this is USPC printed, I know those borders are going to come out fatter and/or off-centered.

You can now get the red deck without the DVD but you have to buy 12. What a load of manure. None of these decks are worth that much. I'd be surprised if they aren't available later on their site. Either way they don't seem to get it. Not everyone wants their stinking DVD and not everyone wants a brick!

We all did good to wait as I am seeing the red deck on sale for $10 on san diego Magic. Imagine those who bought that dvd or a brick to get the red deck ouch

Apparently Murphy's jumped the gun in listing the Visa decks for dealers. Most dealers (including Penguin and others) have an automated system set up so that when Murphy's launches a new item, it auto-populates to the website.

Murphy's launched them early and won't get them for at least a few weeks, so it looks like backers will get theirs first.

I expect that we will have the decks later, but for now they are not in stock at any dealer - they were just listed earlier than they should have been.

Well now these cards are at Art of Play for $10 and $25 for the white one: https://www.artofplay.com/collections/p ... ying-cards" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
In other words, if you're one of the noble people who funded this product and help it see the light of day (and keep in mind, without you these decks wouldn't exist) then you just got bent over. It ALWAYS bothers me when cards are sold cheaper than KS campaigns. What a slap in the face.

That is exactly what you paid on the Kickstarter. $10 for the blue deck and $25 for the Gold/White deck. My pledge level level was $8.3 for the blue deck and $25 was the add-on price so came out slightly ahead. yes there was a $5 shipping fee on the kickstarter for my level but just checked Art of Play and the shipping would be $8 for the same 4 decks. Total savings using KS $8 better than nothing

I meant to own all 3 decks. On Art of Play it now costs only $55 plus shipping. I guess the savings aren't that greater but still- it just rubs me the wrong way how they handled the "limited edition" colors.

Yeah with the red deck I would agree but you also got the dvd . I know a lot if us decided to stay away from the red because we all knew it would be available for cheap after the KS

And we were right ... In the end they only hurt themselves as no one will trust their next KS project..

I'm so glad I cancelled my pledge on KS.. there was no response at all and I simply don't trust them when they said "they won't be for sale afterwards" lol... And I was correct since I get all three decks at a decent price. And btw, AOP and Penguin are selling the decks lol, I won't back any of their decks for sure, even though I love the design of Visa.

Quote from Patrick:

Patrick Kun Collaborator on January 10
VJ, since we aren't printing a large run like the Blue we can only offer a 12 decks tier to meet our minimum printing for USPC. These won't be for sale afterward. To get all three, you can simple pick the combo package or pick the DVD tier and add Blue and White to it.
