When there have been issues with his campaigns in the past (there was a problem with coins I seem to recall), he took full responsibility and fixed the problem. No muss, no fuss to the backers.

It's unfortunate he has to put this project on hold for now, but kudos to him for being a stand-up guy. His stock just went up, as far as I'm concerned.
What I wonder about, though, is - do Kickstarter still take their percentage in these cases?
I'm sure Kickstarter took their percentage because it funded, regardless if he didn't touch the money.
Move on, nothing to see here.

Well, then - does he reimburse the backers their pledge amount minus the percentage? Or pay the percentage out of his own pocket?

Not that I would expect one or the other, just curious.

When Concept Grafix sent refunds for the Bicycle Imperium project, he sent it such that Paypal took out a cut for the transaction from the recipient rather than from the sender. But, that said, he didn't take out Kickstarter fees from the amount he refunded before scheduling the Paypal payment, so there's that.

Whether he sends it and pays all the fees himself or lets Paypal take the fees from the recipients or whatever, I'd say that a mostly full reimbursement is still miles ahead of the Adam Clarksons of this world.

I don't know anything about this creator or project, that said, I'd have to guess that if a "ask me for a refund" strategy is in place, then the people who don't ask for a refund (because they don't know or forgot) are going to cover the kickstarter cut.

Well it's been almost 3 weeks since the announcement that the decks won't be made and still no refund. Shouldn't take this long! I told you guys not to count your chickens before they hatch...

I advise EVERYONE to report this project to KS like I did. DO NOT be content with empty promises. Actions speak louder than works, people. C'mon now.

Why is there silence here?? It's been almost a month since the promise of refunds and so far not a cent has been returned. THERE IS NO REASON FOR IT TO TAKE THIS LONG. Let's not be content with false promises!

Has there been chatter about this on the project page? If not, there should be.

Is it time for a Mana-esque shake-down?

FYI I just messaged the creator demanding my money back and it has FINALLY been refunded. I recommend everyone else do the same.

First, all I can say is, Im sorry I was not able to fulfil the project.
Personal issues and commitments took 90% of my time I have for this project.

The reason for the slow refunds is because Kickstarter only allows me to refund each person 1 at a time.
I have to manually click the backer > then click "issue refund" > Enter card details > Confirm card details > Refund.

And what makes it even crazier is that because of multiple transactions in a short amount of time, my bank account detects it as a fraud and locks my card.
I have to call them to unlock it and continue.

As for those who suspected, yes Kickstarter took a bit from the fees around £600. Refunds are in full pledge amounts so the £600 will come from my own pocket. A small punishment for not being able to fulfil my promises to you all.

Well, it has been an amazing journey of completing 3 projects with you all. Been a pleasure.

On June 6 '44, as part of Overlord, HMS Black Prince laid down its share of the shoot covering the landings ....
Never put aside the respect due to that generation, their sacrifices, nor the atitude they exemplify forever.
They gave much, expected little (for the most part), and backed each other to the finish.
(nota bene. The social contract is denied and/or reviled, and now we fight that same fight once again)

Thanks Alvin, for sticking to your project and your backers ....
Tho' your timing could not be immaculate, your timing was perfect.
Well done.
O, I beg of you your comprehensions,
yet laugh at your contempts ....
my only competition is with myselves.

But Lèse-majesté, especially >Normans, natch.

Is jarnstill the Ars of the Hors Nebulous ?
Neigh .... the Effluxor of the Omniverse ??

I have been working with Sishou since their beginning (as I have done with most of the playing cards creators out there). I have lived almost all the failed projects and scammers in this business for years but Alvin has always shown respect for his backers and passion for doing his best and researching in new and original ways to create playing cards. I am deeply sorry his project couldn't be finally fulfilled and I am sure there must be a very good reason for that (I respect he doesn't want to give more details). I perfectly understand the frustration from backers although I am sure he will finally refund everyone even with a high loss in his pocket.

I only hope he can go back to offer us his creativity and this project doesn't stain his future projects.

Good luck Alvin!

Just wondering if anyone has heard from Alvin? We're unable to proceed with Mandala until we hear from him.
