Re: Bone & Ebon Playing Cards
What do you estimate international shipping will be on this one? I want to get excited abut this deck but high shipping costs are my dealbreaker

Re: Bone & Ebon Playing Cards
Sadly I think I'm going to pass on this one, which is hard considering they have added so much extra stuff to the tucks... I'm an early bird (1x ebon, 1x bone) reply if anyone is interested in getting that spot and we'll set up a time.

Re: Bone & Ebon Playing Cards
My reward arrived today. I pledged for 1 Vanitas deck + 1 Ebon deck. Here's some thoughts:
The Vanitas deck has a pretty darn amazing looking tuck box. NPCC has done great work with tuck boxes and this is another great one. Also an amazing tuck seal. As for the cards, the back is very nice. The AoS and the courts are good too but nothing earth shattering. Also every court is unique. As for the handling, these fan perfectly straight out of the box. No issues there. The stock is the same as the one in Branle deck, meaning that it is very flexible and thin. NPCC decks have been pretty hard to faro in the past, but this one has a better cut for sure. Still I guess it could still be better but at least you can faro these.
As for the Ebon deck, the tuck is not quite as nice as Vanitas IMO. I am not a big fan of the paper used for the tuck case. So that is a slight let down. As for the cards, the deck has a very strange and quite alien look. The artwork is very well done though and each court is very different from each other with each court having their "profession" written below the court. The courts are also one way. As for handling: This deck has a much thicker and sturdier stock than the Vanitas deck. When I fanned my deck, it clumed a bit straight out of the box but after about a minute of fanning and a couple of springs the clumps started to disappear on my fans. Again, faroing is a bit hard but not impossible.
I honestly don't see the horrible awful quality that some here like to talk about. Vanitas deck has a quite a thin stock, so keep that in mind if you are not a fan of thin stocks. But then again, the stock on my Indictus, Chivalry and now Ebon has been very nice and not flimsy at all. Faroing is a bit hard too. That's about it. If you want I can take a picture of my fans with these decks and also take pictures of USPCC and EPCC/LPCC fans to compare them to.
Overall: I am very pleased with the look of Vanitas. Ebon is also good but the tuck case is a slight let down. Otherwise no issues with the looks of Ebon.

Re: Bone & Ebon Playing Cards
Got mine, art is great, really really great, I'm in love with this artist's work. And the coin is spectacular! one of my favorites from a project so far!
But I think NPCC is just messing with me at this point because I expected to come back with my foot in my mouth but the deck I opened (Ebon) didn't prove me wrong. I will open one of my Bone decks this evening and see if I just got one bad deck (a turn of coincidence that I got the bad egg with how vocally negative I generally am toward NPCC) and will touch base back after looking at a second deck.
Really love the art, can't stress that enough.
