Re: Bicycle Gold Member Project
#3 reminds me of the perspective deck. Looked rubbish there, not much better here. Very little detail.
I felt the crowns on the first two designs seem out of place - it's like Georgia is trying to make a face card for the Ace (as Vasta41 said).
A vote for #2 seems only logical - it's interesting that we all seemed to do the same. The 808 idea is interesting, but the spade itself needs to be made the centrepiece - very plain. Of course, the 'all seeing eye' thing is here.. not sure about it's astronomical links.
In summary, none of this is making me optimistic about the design of this deck - I know it's only a rough concept as this stage. These designs remind me of something I might come up with if someone forced me to design a deck - and that ain't a good thing! Hoping we see a cohesive finished design (and deck) at the end of all this.

What did everyone vote for the back? I think I went for option 3. Thought the back designs were generally much better than the ace designs.

Re: Bicycle Gold Member Project
1 and 3 were the stand-outs for me (although 2 could have been great if it had been sufficiently developed). In the end, I chose 1. But, yeah, 3 was a good choice, too.

Pip voting time now. I'm on the fence between 2 and 3. Which one do you like better?

Re: Bicycle Gold Member Project
I went for #3 as I wasn't sure which aspect they're after with #2. Plus the second option just seemed a bit "too much" for what is shaping up to be a nice deck.

I went with 2, as I'm a bit of a sucker for semi-transform sort of stuff.

I went with #3 because #2 said maybe half the pip cards would be conceptual and I didn't see the plan for the other half of them.

Re: Bicycle Gold Member Project
When did you get the email? I haven't seen anything yet then again i'm no longer a gold member because I haven't bought anything from them in quite some time. Seems like they hardly ever release anything and most of what they do is available elsewhere way before they make it available so it's hard to spend X amount of money to maintain any kind of membership level which makes me wonder the point of having a gold membership if it's only for a few people. Oh well i'll have to contact them.

Well, I WAS a gold member, but now that it's time to hand out free decks, I'm all of a sudden a bronze member. What a crock. I've written to them asking for a "Please Explain", but I'm expecting that they are going to weasel out of it somehow.

Re: Bicycle Gold Member Project (wap)
Same...was Gold, now Silver...what a joke! How do they expect anyone to stay a Gold Member with the shit decks that they offer on their site anyways?cherrynukacola wrote:Well, I WAS a gold member, but now that it's time to hand out free decks, I'm all of a sudden a bronze member. The deck is now available for sale but again their website is so efffed up, they should fire whomever design it. Nothing works. When I try to log in it goes to a white screen. Man they must not want to sell anything

Aint that the truth. I'm not even going to try anymore. It's nonsense and I don't like to be faced with frustration when I'm just trying to make a purchase.badpete69 wrote:The deck is now available for sale but again their website is so efffed up, they should fire whomever design it. USPC will be sending this to anyone who participated. If you are no longer a gold member and didn't receive an email you should contact them to confirm.

Re: Bicycle Gold Member Project
I contacted them yesterday and got a reply today basically saying that they did overlook those of us who had been Gold members at the time the project was going on but became Silver or Bronze by the time the project completed. It also said they were going back through everyone to find those that fell into this situation. Not long after I got my reply, I got the email about receiving a free deck (probably the same email mentioned above).

It's been so long since I logged in I had to reset my password.
Was Gold, now Silver. As I predicted the day after the new paradigm was announced, they shot themselves in the foot. I am amongst those who still haven't seen a thing since a couple of months ago when I likely was still "Gold"...

Got my deck in a few days back but haven't opened it yet as I ended up leaving it at my folks' place on accident. Anyone get one and have pictures or should I make a mental not to pick it up when I'm over there tomorrow?

Re: Bicycle Gold Member Project
Same here. When I was a gold member they'd send me e-mails to vote. When I fell off, the e-mails just stopped coming without warning but my free deck is arriving today. Wish I remembered that when I ordered two on Black Friday. But oh well, it's a very nice deck.4.of.Clubs wrote:To report, wasn't a gold member but did vote on some stuff a while back (can't remember), a free deck came in today.
SIDE NOTE: I'm still amazed at the digression of club 808. It was BY FAR the best subscription playing card membership around (IMO) just a mere 2-3 years ago. Now they expect you to maintain Gold Member status while only releasing a small handful of decks per year that, oh by the way, are only available in select Walmarts and not even on their site. Much to my surprise, I received an email last week asking for me to confirm my shipping address and today I received a deck - they didn't charge for shipping to Australia, which was unexpected and nice of them.
