Cardistry Con Deck D&D KS
Not sure why D&D need to go the Kickstarter route, but whatever I guess. Not bad aside from a one way back. Speaking of which, looks like they've ditched Magic Con in favor of Cardistry Con since there's been zero activity on the Magic Con website in 2 years and this would be the Magic Con time of year.

That's pretty lame...it was announced during the project that "These cards are limited and will only be available through this campaign". Typical...

Re: Cardistry Con Deck D&D KS
Hmm... that does kindof suck. While I'm grateful to be able to get some, having missed the KS campaign, it's always disappointing to see that happen. Though Art of Play may have backed the project in order to secure several for sale for their site. There's no way to regulate that really, but I suspect the project creator's intention was not to sell stock after the project closed...shermjack wrote:That's pretty lame...it was announced during the project that "These cards are limited and will only be available through this campaign". D&D and Art of Play are one and the same...I doubt the Buck twins would have backed their own project and pay an extra percentage to KS for securing decks for Art of Play, but you never know...Justin O. wrote:Hmm... that does kindof suck. Re: Cardistry Con Deck D&D KS
I didn't know they were the same, but I also wasn't paying attention to the fact that this is from the Bucks, they are probably my least favorite company, despite having some of my favorite decks, I have seen constant instances where they throw business ethics completely out the window, I truly believe they will do/say anything for a buck (eh.. eh...?)shermjack wrote:D&D and Art of Play are one and the same...I doubt the Buck twins would have backed their own project and pay an extra percentage to KS for securing decks for Art of Play, but you never know...Justin O. wrote:Hmm... that does kindof suck. Re: Cardistry Con Deck D&D KS (wap)
I'd get one but not with their outrageous shipping costs lately. $17 to ship 1 deck to Canada is about $5 too much and more than they charge via their eBay which I don't understand

Re: Cardistry Con Deck D&D KS
Here is a direct quote from Dan/Dave Buck on their KS campaign page:
"Produced by Art of Play and printed by none other than The U.S. Playing Card Company. These cards are limited and will only be available through this campaign."
When I saw this message on their KS campaign, I knew right away they would break their word and sell these again on other venues. Forget for about their ridiculously overpriced products and their obnoxious pretentiousness, the main reason I cannot stand Dan and Dave Buck is because they are probably the most ethically challenged company in the playing card industry.
You cannot negotiate with Ellusionist and lead Brad Christian to believe E had an excusive deal to sell Trilogy, and then afterwards go to Penguin magic and let them sell Trilogy as well at a lower price which undercut E. You cannot claim to be sold out of red S&M decks, only to "discover" hundreds (if not thousands) of red S&M decks in your attic and sell them again months later. You cannot claim Ohio Aristocrat stock is the most premium stock from USPCC, when it was in fact the economy option for casinos who couldn't afford casino-grade Bee stock. You cannot claim to never reprint any of the S&M decks, and then go out and reprint 60,000 S&M decks! You cannot advertise on your site that the Voltige deck is a custom deck hand-drawn from scratch when it is in fact a replica of a pre-existing French decks. So for Art of Play to have these available for sale after the Buck specifically claimed these Cardistry Con decks would only be available during the KS campaign is consistent with their shady practices and utterly predictable.

Re: Cardistry Con Deck D&D KS
Ellusionist is not much better. Let's not also forget Dan & Dave supporting projects on their own Deckstarter platform which is totally unethical.
