Sorry for the long post in advance...Reylek wrote:Hey guys. We've always made it clear that any questions/concerns should always be emailed directly to us. Any of you who have emailed in the past can hopefully attest to the fact that we will respond very quickly.
These pricing differences are probably due to the fact that a normal brick is viewed in the system as 12 separate items, where the Collector's box is one item. The weights are a little different as we usually send normal bricks broken up so they fit into an envelope. The Collector Bricks will be sent assembled in boxes. The shipping calculator is largely automated, so sometimes it can be a little inconsistent.
Again, you will always get the best info and quickest responses if you email us directly - info@houseofplayingcards.com Forums and Facebook are great for certain things, but direct contact is always best for order questions.
So I did contact HOPC, and they were extremely fast in responding, so I appreciate that.
But most of the answers I got were fairly vague and not too helpful. They did say they would be more than happy to reimburse any extra shipping they charge, but fell way short of honoring the S&H of a different brick. Or even telling me what actual S&H would be. So screen capturing what 12 Curators ship for is probably pointless.
Keep in mind, standard S&H for the collector's brick is $37.45, USPS (for me) was $21.20.
When I questioned why on my last order (2 bricks) I was charged $15.35, I was told "the system actually under-charged you on the last order if it was sent boxed." But the large flat rate it was sent to me in DOES cost $15.35. So what was I not charged for? 2 sq-ft of bubble wrap?
They said "The final shipping cost should be somewhere between $15-20 but I will not have the exact figure until the warehouse actually ships a package." "If the lowest option you are being offered by the shipping calculator is over $21, odds are it is pretty close to the actual S&H costs, though is might be a couple of dollars too high."
Bottom line? I'm passing. I need to know what I'm paying for something. And I just thought I should let everyone know that while they will refund any excess, just because 12 decks ships standard for $9.60, that is probably NOT what you will be charged for this.
