A few questions/comments

- Is the red deck identical to black, other than back color and new jokers? I'll probably still get one for playing purposes, but wanted to be sure for collecting reasons.

- Are you able to list in each tier that it is in AUD instead of USD? It took a while for me to notice the conversion to USD and at first was very disappointing by the pricing. Now that I see that it's totally in line, especially since using LPCC, but others may have the same problem unless you can make that much more obvious. This also makes the project goal much more logical since it's listed in AUD and not USD.

- What about shipping? Hopefully you have reasonable shipping since you are using GW. I'll assume that will be auto calculated per tier and for each country as needed, just hoping that is reasonable.

- I was able to find the add on cost for the uncut at $49 ($35 USD), but does that include shipping? Just need to know how much to add to my pledge.

I also already updated my KickStarter profile badge! ;)
Thanks Nate! I appreciate the enthusiasm!

- The decks have the same card faces; different backs, boxes and jokers. I’ve made that clearer in the description.
- At the top there is a big note about the currency, and each reward has the equivalent USD listed with it. I don’t know how I can make that clearer :S
- Shipping is with GW; it’s pretty standard - $3 US, $5 Int for 1 deck.
- All the add-ons include shipping, I’ve included a note saying that. Good pickup.

Hope that covers everything. Thanks for having a look – your advice is always good :)

Just a couple of observations;
  • In the text you say the Red deck is unlocked at $25,000 - but according to the stretch goals graphic below it is at $30k.
  • Why does it cost more to add on 1x 4deck compared with 4x 1deck? That is it's $16 to add on a deck, but $67 for 4 - especially when it is only $63 for a 4 deck (non-EB) pledge. Something doesn't add up here. You'd be much better off to create a second KS account and have a new pledge than add onto an existing one? (There may be more examples - I just noticed this one)

I'm on board for a pair.

Added the Kickup to the original post.

So... why is the initial funding goal so high?

Oh, wait. That's in Australian Dollars, isn't it? Never mind.

They're up, and I'm in. Pledged for 4 decks to start. Might get an uncut as this one just seems to be screaming for it.

Good luck on your campaign, Ben. I hope to see this one funded quickly.

And yes, AUD is higher than USD. The funding goal is around $14k - very reasonable

Cheers!

Fud - Your 2:21 video was ok. Stick (= Pip ppl) with it  , you have something. Ppls like transformation decks. I noticed you can't click on the UnitedCardists banner on your Kickstarter. Minor fix. Just remember your borders can be thinner.

I do like your fat "10" index. In this case, it doesn't look out of place.

In the video, faith, hope, and charity are in the Tarot and the 10oS is missing.
Thanks Sprouts! If it only took till the 3 to sell you on the deck, you should be pleasantly surprised with the rest of it :)

On other notes, I didn’t link in the UC banner because it is paired with the Playingcardsforum one. The borders could have been thinner but it is too late for that now unfortunately. For future projects they will be as thin as LPCC allows – I have an idea in mind which will require as thin as possible as you will see! I'm not a fan of the video as the quality messed up somewhere during the uploading, but it gets the job done.

It is looking like this campaign will struggle to cross the line. I have talked with a few backers and non-backers who say that the delay in fulfilling the Prism deck cost me their pledge. I understand that (even though it wasn’t in my control), and because I lost out on quite a few of the Prism pledges in the early days it really hurt the momentum now. However the Prism has finally shipped, and if it doesn’t succeed the first time I have some ideas to kick it up a gear with a relaunch.

Re: Pipmen Playing Cards - relaunching soon...

Unread post by Fud »

Hi Everyone,

I am sad to say that I will be cancelling funding for this campaign short of the project dead line. The reasons for this are mainly because I feel that it is now unattainable to reach our funding goal, and I would like some time to adjust the campaign before I relaunch it. That being said, I want to sincerely thank everyone who has supported this project; it really means a lot to me that almost 300 people think this project is worth funding! Thank you so much!

The good news!

During the last few weeks I have been analyzing the project, talking to backers and thinking about ways to make this more appealing. I think I have some answers to those problems, and so we will be RELAUNCHING this project soon – Tuesday the 16th of Feb to be exact! (That's a little over 1 week from now, check the notice at the bottom). Let me show you a bit of what the new campaign will feature:
  • - Both Black and Red decks available right from the start (unlimited runs).
    - Same funding goal (but for 2 decks this time), and slightly cheaper decks!
    - A revised stretch goal list with really awesome rewards. I am really hoping to unlock certain ones of these!!!
    - Freebies and bonuses for backers of this first campaign who come back to back the project the second time (free decks! Wooooooo!)
    - This super cool guy will be making an appearance as a limited print run stretch goal (should be easily reachable):
Promo-Shadow.png
I still have every confidence in this project and are confident that with our incredible backers and adjusted campaign we will be able to successfully fund Pipmen playing cards and get them our into the world where they belong! I hope you share my excitement for this unique deck :) Again, a huge thank you to everyone who has supported this project so far. This isn’t over, see you very soon!

Fud - Second look, In your next Kickstarter, make this information somewhere higher in the Kickstarter. It's important. Ppl want to know the printer; USPCC, ExpertPCC, LegendsPCC, or MPC. If you don't make it the second time, check out MakePlayingCards.com; Your goal can be set lower and you do have a $10,000 following. Of course, you are going to get some blow back from switching printers, but I'm sure you are used to that. You can make your deck and get on with the next deck... So far, you can't be stereotyped unlike Jackson.

Thanks for the feedback Sprouts.

I will be relaunching in a week, and I will move the deck info much higher - I see the value in having that right up front.

As to switching to the printer, I will be staying with LPCC for a few reasons: Their price is reliable and relatively low, they did great job for me on Prism and are easy to work with, and I must use LPCC for a future project - because of this I'll stick with LPCC, and I'm happy to. The $20k goal might have been a bit high, but remember that it is in AUD, so around $14k USD. For the relaunch the goal will stay the same, but both Black and Red decks will be available from the start,so $14k USD for 2 decks.

Well, it's AUD so that's $10 USD. Perhaps a little high, but not as bad. ;)

Yep, I'm sorry but UPS raised their costs at the start of the year. I took the middle ground and ate half the increase but had to up shipping a bit to compensate. And yes, it's in AUD. Poor exchange rate for us at the moment :(

I've looked over all the cards during the campaign and they all look good, but this one seems odd. The sequence doesn't feel right and is a distraction. Perhaps you can clarify my misunderstanding or make a change?

Here's what I see - baby, toddler, starts going to school, now more interested in playing and biking, becomes a big partier and joker, gets a job?, graduates (wait, what???), starts making money, starts a family, gets old. It's really the character to the right of the joker in the circle with the briefcase/lunchbox, what is that and why is it before graduates?

Nate; the intention was that the Pipman grows up, does his wild joker-y lifestyle (peaking at the Joker), then gets serious, gets a degree, a job, a family and settles down. I thought it was fairly balanced :S
