New - Gentleman's Deck

Looking around this site (which has some very cool things), I saw a these:

I know they are not designed for the flourishing cardist as much as for the collector.

What are the opinions about decks like this?

I like the information they provide, especially if they are made well... but $15!? No idea where they were manufactured.
So they're "classy" & expensive. Like something D&D would promote. Wish we could see the backs.

Without knowing what the back design looks like, there's no way to judge this deck, especially since the face of the cards don't look promising. Maybe the only positive aspect is the box if its made of chip board. $15 for this is probably the final nail in the coffin....

I have these. They are not standard playing cards. The deck is about 50% thicker (unusable) than a standard deck. It is like 'cover stock' more than card stock. It's more of a novelty, pretty cool actually.

It does seem like a neat novelty, the both of them. If it's different stock I guess I can more easily see the cost.
