It wasn't a good looking deck before, and it isn't a good looking deck now...

I could see a decent magic effect with this one but I would not take the time to get one.

Also, who cares if it makes a flag? No one is going to take the time to lay them out like that. Even if there was an uncut sheet (which there isn't) it would be a jumbled mess!

I was just about to post the same thing. I would be more interested if the uncut looked cool. But I don't like much about this deck it looks like a deck of cards that Marlboro would send out.

Didn't like it before, and don't much care for it now.
Too much poorly designed, patriotic chest thumping for my taste.

Heavy handed patriotic design. Little custom design beyond cutting up a flag. Face cards while nice for what they are (letters) seems lazy. The backs contrast with the front, perhaps intentionally.

I thought we collected tuck boxes, where's the box pictures.

What I cannot understand is why the actors relaunch the deck on KS without any change and with higher pledge levels... I backed it before with a early tier but now I cannot do it again with the new pledges.

It just doesn't make sense for a playing card.

This just project just seems to be an attempt at blatant exploitation of people's patriotism. What's next, a deck that features a picture of a Bible instead of the U.S. flag?

Not nearly as messy as I had thought it would be. Why not just hang the flag down???

well as I canadian I have no need for this deck, I am not a patriotic american and even if this was a canada flag I would still hate it its just a bad idea for a deck of cards.

As a Canadian, I don't necessarily think it's a tacky move-- I think it's been designed in a relatively aesthetically pleasing way-- but it does make me kind of roll my eyes and go 'only an American...'. But as patriotic designs go, I think it's one of the more tasteful excesses of Americana I've seen.

But the design doesn't suit the medium -- look at the way the pips are so downplayed, they're barely there. There's no advantage to doing the cut flag effect this way. The way it's laid out, no one will ever get the effect of the cards. And it's unfortunate, because I think you could probably do something that could give you a flag-like effect if fanned with ordered cards (of course you couldn't really play with them since that would call for blatant marking, but that's the price of aiming for style), and that would be a far better use of the medium while still doing the same 'rah rah america' thing.

Careful with the "only in America"... I was up in Vancouver last week and you guys have your fair share of stupid. :)
We haven't completely cornered the market on that quite yet.

Plenty of idiocy, to be sure, but we've generally got substantially less monetization of flag-waving nonsense.

I'll definitely give you that...

<sarcasm>
Nothing says patriotism like flying a plastic American flag from your minivan window...
</sarcasm>

I bet this guy, after this doesn't get funded again, thinks "third time is the charm!" :mrgreen:
