I always feel bad for the international card collectors out there because you get raped on shipping. Having said that, I don't think its the retailer's fault because international shipping is so much more expensive and it's not economically efficient to make small orders because of that.
I think all you Canadians should get together and coordinate your orders so you guys only have to place one big order to save on shipping. Maybe CBJ can form an organization called the Canadian Card Collectors and then CCC can contact all the card producers and negotiate a preferential international shipping rate for the big order CCC will place on behalf of all its members. If you guys organize like that and have the power of numbers behind you, I'm sure the card producers will be willing to deal.

The issue is...
Canada post has INSANE rates between provinces in Canada. It would only work if we were all in the same area.
Example, I live near 4 other cards collectors... sometimes we get together and make purchases
But for me to ship a deck or 2 from Toronto to British Columbia wouldn't be worth it at all
CBJ
... and "CCC" is already taken lol

I do believe it's Circle City Card Company, so 4 C's not 3

Yeah, unfortunately high shipping is something you just have to get used to when shipping most things to Canada-- it's why I try not to complain too much in general. And living in Winnipeg doesn't help at all for getting in on things like splitting shipping, either. I just thought it was worth mentioning because shipping these decks is awfully high even considering that. But they are so very very pretty, I just couldn't resist. I may have a problem. :v

lol Canadian Card Collectors/CCC was just something I made up on the spot to use as an example and I forgot Circle City Cards went by that. I wasn't trying to step on other people's toes by stealing acronyms! I didn't realize the rates between provinces were so high, I just assumed it was similar to shipping between states here in America, that's a shame. I guess this concept wouldn't work among the European countries, either.......CBJ wrote:The issue is...

Re: Seasons Playing Cards: ~ Platinum Series ~
Hi guys,
I truly apologize for being so absent among the forums. Extended family life has been evolving so my schedule has been quite unpredictable the past 4 months. So let's get back to cards!
First off, LOVE UC V2.
Having got that out of the way I've been hearing a lot about international shipping. It's the nature of the beast to have such high pricing. We are currently shipping everything Priority Mail. Unfortunately that means that lower quantity orders don't really maximize the advantage of higher quantity orders. It is true that we charge $19 for shipping 1 set of cards as we do 16 decks of cards. But we're working to change that.
Hopefully before Christmas we'll be offer different shipping options for those that prefer an economical solution to a time-savvy solution. This was something we've wanted to add before but was a lot more complicated than expected to upgrade to.
If you have any questions just ask. I'll try to be a bit more prevalent on the forums.
Thanks,
Alex

Finally had my pair of these come in (honestly I'd be less bent out of shape about the cost of shipping to Canada in general if it weren't soooo slooooooooow) and yowza. Cracked them open and they feel like butter in my hands-- a real feat given how clumsy I am. And they really are just beautiful in person.
