This sort of ties in with my other post. There are so many Kickstarter projects active for custom decks but what else would you guys love to see hit Kickstarter for magicians?
I'm talking outside the box whether it be more custom design magician coins like the Artifacts, magician hats, markers etc. We took the standard deck of cards and made it a market for hobbyist and collectors. What else would you want to see? Can't wait to see the responses.
Thanks!

I'm not really a magician, but as a "flourisher of all things small" I love coins. My Mechanic coins are being used on a daily basis.
Your mention of markers made me think of pens that are made for pen-spinning, I'd like to see that

Re: What other custom items does a magician need?
I would personally stay away from coins. Custom coin work is done by Tango,Johnson,Kueppers and Scoolcraft/Lassen.
For pens the sherpa pens (custom housings) are already on the market.
A revealations Tshrt has been done by Jay Sankey (not very succesfull ...or should i say no high demand).
Carrying cases like the assasins pouch, the pro carrier etc. Are also already out there.
Even gun like holdouts for under the vest/jacket and custom belts are aviable.
A closeup magician needs props, which can be used for many different effects or have multiple use.
The pocketspace of a working closeup magician is very limited so the items he carries are choosen wisely.
A swiss army knife for the magician so to speak is what you should aim for
But what i believe , would be a good idea, a well designed closeup mat

Re: What other custom items does a magician need?
Well, staying with playing cards, I think a lot more can be done with custom playing cards. Incorporate a ton of secret reveals throughout the box and all the cards, don't limit it to just a bar code reveal on the box and Jokers. I'm for more innovative gaff cards. I think technology should be implemented more. An example of this would be to incorporate QR codes into the clothing of the custom court cards. Then when you sucessfully produce their selected court card, you can have them scan it with their cell phone and the QR code can add a whole new level of magic.

Now this idea I like. Hmm....alric wrote:I think technology should be implemented more. An example of this would be to incorporate QR codes into the clothing of the custom court cards. Use the idea, man, use it! I loved the Tendril deck and I'm going to be all over the Arum deck when it comes out! Out of all the deck designers out there, I'd be extremely pleased to see you incorporating a QR code into the clothing of the court cards in one of your upcoming decks.
