Here are minor changes for the 1800 decks.

I prefer old one...

Yeah I noticed this a couple months ago.

I wonder why they changed it

It seems almost pointless to make such minor changes to it.

What is the faded, barely visible blue writing across the front of the box?
Is that a watermark or part of the new design?
I can't make it out.

Look closely. No more gold ink on the new one. No gold ink = cheaper printing costs. And if the two sets of photos are exactly the same scale, it appears the Bicycle name and Spade symbol are slightly more prominent in the design.

Also the Blue 1800's spade is now blue instead of red.

Good catch. I still don't see any reason for those changes, though.

Here is some notes from E
"Hi Jason,

Again - I reiterate there has not been any design change to the tuck boxes. Some tonal changes have taken place when we changed to the Erlanger printed decks in Performance Coating - you will notice the Ace is Blue, rather than Red on the Blue 1800 deck. With that change the UPC Code was removed, the coating text was updated and the printing company was updated to 'Ellusionist Playing Card Company' from USPCC. All the aesthetics of the design remain the same.

All the best,

Jake.
