Re: Medusa Deck Coming to Kickstarter Friday 9/28 noon PST
It's great to see you here! I look forward to seeing the Kickstarter campaign, my only concern is that there are 7 or 8 decks already funding. Would waiting a week or two be more beneficial for funding?

Re: Medusa Deck Coming to Kickstarter Friday 9/28 noon PST
Hi Russel,
I did think about waiting, in fact I did wait a little for the Quicksilver deck to finish and 5 more decks popped up in that time. I think there will just be more and more decks out there so I figured getting it out now is as good a time as any.

So I'm planning on using Magic Finish and embossed paper. Anyone Disagree? I have both the Ornate Deck (magic, embossed) and Grid (air-cushion, embossed) deck and really like the feel of both but I thought I'd get opinions from the cardists out there.

I think that's a perfect combination for a white deck like yours.Cipher Kai wrote:So I'm planning on using Magic Finish and embossed paper. Anyone Disagree? It's not more than it usually is for kickstarter decks, but yeah, still too high.Strag wrote:Won't be backing, sadly the int'l shipping for just a couple decks is a killer.

Actually I think it is. $5 for one deck or $10 for two? I don't recall anyone else charging that, and that's on top of an already expensive deck price.
The other thing that doesn't seem to be taken into account; for the most part US shipping is included however there IS a definite cost. It seems like international pledges get charged actual cost *on top* of what's already being charged for US. I realize it's not an exact science and shipping is indeed expensive, unfortunately it seems to be pricing out most of us that would only like to get 2 decks or so. The pricing only starts to get realistic at 6+ decks. Ah well.

We are two-thirds the way there and only one-third the way in! It's a little early for stretch goals I know but in celebration we are adding free art prints for every backer who pledges for two or more decks! If you've pledged you can help decide what the print will be.

Re: Medusa Deck - Live on Kickstarter
I can’t say that this deck was funded quickly on Kickstater. There were even some doubts as to successful funding. But it’s funded (de bene esse). There are some moments which can lead to criticism but I like this deck. And I hope they’ll do custom Aces.
So my congratulations and I guess I can (for a while)…

The deck is funded and we made our first stretch goal, all 4 custom aces. Less than $2,000 more to go for Bee Casino stock and two days left!

Here's the images of the final custom Aces. We're just finishing up the Gaff cards and then it's off to the printers.

Re: Medusa Deck - Live on Kickstarter
Holy Crap
They totally re-did the AoS. It looks great and fits the theme of the suit now. I did not back this deck because so many others were going at the time and that card looked more like and elven Ace than the Orc Ace the spades were supposed to be. I wish I would have picked one up now. Ohh well maybe I will fine on on Ebay or the like later down the road.
