Interestingly, I am backing a unicorns art book on Kickstarter for one of my daughters, but a definite pass on these playing cards. Pass, pass, pass.

Bicycle Unicorn Deck (Direct from USPC)

Unread post by ecNate »

From at Bicycle Cards Facebook page, photos from 2018 New York Toy Fair. I assume this will be a standard court deck as opposed to some of the recent all out silly unicorn decks. Kind of weird choice, but if interested should be on their site 'soon'.

Yennefer of Vengerberg approved.

Those who have read The Witcher books or played the games know what I'm talking about.

Yes. Yen would have loved those cards. But I don't think they are suited for a game of Gwent :)

I prefer Triss. But I wouldn't say no to Yen ;)

No offence Smocito but you are dead to me. Read the books. Triss is a bitch.

How the games made her as an equal romantic option as Yennefer is beyond me, it goes completely against the books.

I haven't read the books.

I played the 3 games, Yen didn't appear on the first one (at least I don't remember her) and I'm a faithful guy :)

You should, they are amazing. Very different type of fantasy. Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt is filled to the brim with conversations about the events that take place in the books (the books happend before the games) making the whole game so much better when you, you know, understand what the characters are even talking about most of the time.

Also not including Yennefer in the first two games is a really odd choice in my mind. The romantic options in the first game are Shani (a minor character in the books, who Geralt has no feelings for, even their casual one time one night stand is interrupted) and Triss (with who Geralt sleeps with twice (?) in the books, other time being a pityf*ck, basically Triss is pretty damn deep in the friendzone with no possibilty of getting out, her own choices in the books making a possible romance in the games after Geralt has recovered his memory pretty damn strange option by the game developers). While in the books Geralt and Yennefer have an on-off type of relationship, where they constantly split-up but always end up back together because both are to the other the only person that truly understand them. Everyone they know don't understand their relationship, because they don't realize they honestly care for each other even when they are apart. It's a really well told lovestory, made by even more impressive that Geralt and Yennefer don't even spend that much time together during the books, often being separated. Naturally the main storyline of the books revolves around Ciri however, the third important one being the war between Nilfgaard and the Northern Kingdoms, all of these storylines being like three different strings all mixed up together.

Thanks, I already intended to read the books.
I've bought The Last Wish, but I haven't read it yet.
I hope they tell the part of Geralt, Yen and the Unicorn ;)
