Re: Pizza Playing Cards
@Conturbia: These are fantastic. Absolutely fantastic. I also love, how the custom courts face the "correct" way, keeping us traditionalists happy and making them playable.
For a critique, I think the reds for the indices and pips could be a little darker, like the red colour you have for the pizza heart, and the greens a little darker. While I'd like to see black spades/clubs, green will work, but again, darker might be a tad better. And the back design, nailed it. Could you even push the design to the edges more?
The only thing left are a pizza box tuck, a super fat pizza eating joker stuffing his face with pizza and lots of empty pizza boxes in the background and a naked female joker with pizzas covering the sensual spots!
Reasonably priced with a decent printer, I'm all over these for multiple decks. Well done so far. Again, these are fantastic.

Re: Pizza Playing Cards
Thank you very much! As for the joker we will probably play with Italian stereotypes, but we are still thinking... the printer will be 99% USPCC, the back design is inspired by the rider back.TGunitedcardists wrote:@Conturbia: These are fantastic. Re: Pizza Playing Cards
The Diamonds will be the americans, because even if pizza is an Italian thing, it's so loved and known in USA, that we just had to include them in the deck

Re: Pizza Playing Cards
As an American we do have excellent pizza places, and crappy chain stores too, but we're not all that fat or use jarred sauce on pizza.
Move on, nothing to see here.

I dream of a world where wars are fought only by having dance offs. I also dream that a Finnish playing card designer would exist. The former seems more likely to happend.

Re: Pizza Playing Cards
Hey Riccardo,
I love it! It's great to see a quirky design so well thought out and executed.
The courts are sweet! Great style and perfect use of color. Have you played with making the Back Card multi-color? The 1-Color pizzas on the Back look a little plain when compared to the full color pizzas on the Aces (which I think are clever as hell - Pizza shaped PIPS!).
I have no idea what you're doing with the Tucks, but remember, UV Spot Ink is a great tool for a fun design (one where Foils don't make sense). UV could be used effectively to highlight some Tuck elelements like grease spots, ingredients, pizza box logos, pizzeria menu logos.....
I look forward to seeing what you guys do with the Tucks!
Thanks, Randy

Re: Pizza Playing Cards
There's no way with that waistline that the QoD eats pepperoni pizza on the reg. but I love it nonetheless! Kind of looks like Gwen Stefani...

Re: Pizza Playing Cards
Interesting. With the green club, that looks like a shamrock ! I was expecting my family (Irish - who like pizza too). Anyway, looking good. Put lots of toppings (no pineapple or anchovies please).

Re: Pizza Playing Cards
I had a pizza with anchovies once. If they put 1 per slice it would be okay. It's saltier than pure sodium.Bradius wrote:Interesting. With the green club, that looks like a shamrock !
