Curious Keyholes (NPCC)
I am getting ready to launch Curious Keyholes on Kickstarter - a new deck featuring radially symmetrical figures derived from a minimalist depiction of the court cards. These will be printed by Noir Arts and will include free international shipping.
This campaign will also have a stretch goal dealer coin:
If you have seen my previous designs, you know they tend to be a little quirky and weird, so with that caveat, i welcome your comments!

Please put similar things on each suit. Your JoC has a slant line on it but the KoC has dots. Put slants on the Clubs for example. The QoH has the dot connected to the lies so have all Hearts like that.
Not a fan of no real pips either. I see you like quirky but this is too odd for me.

Move on, nothing to see here.

Re: Curious Keyholes (NPCC)
could have the amount of points or turns in the designs correspond with the number value of the cards. So although you dont have regular pips, the amount of ink on the card does still increase with the card value.

That's cool - not going to please everybody. But there is a method here - the figures on the courts are abstract representations of the traditional courts.RichK wrote:Please put similar things on each suit. The slant on the JoC is the feather in his cap.
The ball on the KoC is that weird floating ball in front of him.
JoH also has a feather on the left.
Queens hold flowers.

Re: Curious Keyholes (NPCC)
Yeah - well, what can I say? I'd prefer not to go with MPC on this one - I'd prefer a more premium card. Unfortunately I'll have to contend with a 1000 minimum print. That goal is as low as I can make it and not lose money on it.jerichoholic wrote:That's a pretty ambitious goal
And I'm proud of the designs. I know they're a little weird for most people, but hopefully I can cobble together a good posse.
Feel free to blow your disposable income on my campaign!

Well you tried this deck before with a $1200 goal and barely got any support and so far it looks about the same amount of support.

Let me put it in simple words:markallender wrote:Beg pardon?sms69x wrote:$12 for a NPCC deck?? That's a huge NO NO...

You can't expect people to pay a Ferrari price for a Skoda...
I guess that nowadays $12 is the standard price regardless of the printer.

Re: Curious Keyholes (NPCC)
Tell you what - that was the cheapest I could make them and not lose money on them. I like my designs - I recognize they're a little weird. The downside is that I can't expect a large print run. Hence the higher cost.sms69x wrote:Let me put it in simple words:markallender wrote:Beg pardon?sms69x wrote:$12 for a NPCC deck?? That's a huge NO NO...

That said, I've heard people say good things about them.

Re: Curious Keyholes (NPCC)
I'm not saying that you are making a ton of profit, I believe that's the cheapest you could get. My point is only that NPCC charge high price for very poor quality decks. In the price range you're, you could get better printer to print your deck, and thus getting better possibilities of it to fund.markallender wrote: Tell you what - that was the cheapest I could make them and not lose money on them. I like your design, isn't something that makes me go "WOW", but sure it caught my eye, and I would gladly support it if it were printed by a good company.

Re: Curious Keyholes (NPCC)
All right - I took the advice of the ones who said the figures should increase in size across the numeral cards. To wit:
It looks like a long shot at this point, but I'll let ride for awhile:
Thanks!
