hmmm....why is this on Kickstarter ? I thought the decks are already printed.
It's a bit strange to me that there are only 2 Colors in the campaign (Red +Black), as there are other colors of these decks. ---> viewtopic.php?f=8&t=9474&hilit=sackbut" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; (Maybe a mod. wants to merge this)
So what about the blue and purple deck ?

The price is a bit high.... 115HK Dollar (~14,7 US Dollar) but in their other campaign (with Bocopo) they offer a deck also printed by USPCC for just 86 HK Dollar ( ~11 US Dollar)
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/21 ... by-uspcc-g" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The deck itself is ok but i'm not happy how and why they doing this campaign :roll:

I honestly think that buying these modern vintage looking decks is like buying a Ferrari that has the engine of a Citroen/Skoda/Fiat/Opel/etc. It looks cool, but
1. What's the point?
2. It may function but it is just not the same thing

I dream of a world where wars are fought only by having dance offs. I also dream that a Finnish playing card designer would exist. The former seems more likely to happend.

I know this deck is supposed to be an ode to vintage Vegas casinos, and maybe my gambling history is rusty, but what does this specifically reminisce? For example I know Glamour Nuggets are supposed to be like the Golden Nugget.

I feel like there's an old casino logo or movie reference or something I'm missing, can anyone fill me in?

Yup this is it, never heard of this casino. Seems like it was bought and torn down to make a parking lot, but the sign is still alive and on display somewhere.
I'm having a hard time finding exactly where it used to be located because the casino that bought them out also doesn't exist anymore, but it looks like it's on the Wynn end of the Strip.

Anyway, this is pretty cool, time to take a closer look at the vintage cards and compare to the available colors of this ode. If it doesn't have as many colors as Glamour Nugget, I may actually try to pick up a pair.

There were only 5 colors made for the Silver Slipper decks...I believe that the red and black were most common, the blue and green came as a set and are semi-rare and the purple is most rare. The actual decks are much more scarce than the Golden Nugget decks and can easily sell for over 500 in mint condition and even up to a couple thousand :shock:

Huh, wow. Any idea how many of each there are?

Also, any idea if this red+black pair on KS is a second printing or if they are just selling existing stock?
