While these appear to be very nice, it looks like Peter and Linnea produced the deck, while the artwork is by Vincent Kallenbrum.

All for capitalism, but I do hope they put some purchase limits on them. Would suck for one person to grab a gross just to resell on eBay.

BTW - Some details for those that don't want to click through...
So excited to finally be able to share a secret poker deck project we've been working on with the New York based company, Hyde Park Mouldings, one of the permier archtectural moulding companies in the world. Working closely with the owner, David Nassim, we were able to bring the artwork of his skilled craftsman, Vincent Kallenbrum, together with our playing card design sensibility for one sweet deck. Only 288 of each design will be available for purchase to the public on our website this weekend! The sale will go live at 10am CST, October 22nd – hope to see you there!

The tuck cases look great and I'm assuming the card backs are like the tuck cases. However, the court cards shown don't work. It seems like product placement fused with playing cards. To me, they just don't work.

If someone else were to put these out, I doubt it would be enough to fund a Kickstarter. That's a funny statement, I know. Kind of.

The 288 available to purchase on the website, while sounding semi-exclusive, leaves a lot of other cards that were produced, on a run of 1,000 or more. I think if people are jumping on these because a financial motive might be disappointed. Then again, I could be completely wrong.

I'm curious what they are going to price these, but I don't think it's going to be more than $20. Seems like a promotional deck that they helped out with.

I'm not a completist either, so luckily, that won't draw me in! :) I don't have to have every deck Uusi puts out, but I understand why there are those types of people. They exude quality. Just the artwork doesn't work this time IMHO.

Good luck to those interested, but it's an easy pass for me.

I saw Uusi, a new poker size deck and the picture of the tuck and my hype level jumped to over 9000...

Now I saw the courts. It's not bad, but it is not nearly as good as other Uusi decks. This must have an amazing back, otherwise a pass for me...

I love moulding, and promotional decks, and I especially love Uusi, and even more than that I love exclusivity. And the art is great. There isn't anything about this deck that doesn't absolutely appeal to me.

TGunitedcardists wrote:I'm curious what they are going to price these, but I don't think it's going to be more than $20.

I think we're probably looking at $20 or $30, maybe up to $50 because of their radically small availability

They're available now, $30 a deck. In for a couple. :)

I'm with Justin O. 100% too. I love promotional decks from companies (One of my favorites is still the Firehost series) and I love UUSI. So what's not to love about these eh (other than the price that is)?

Seeing the whole deck, I just only got a dark deck. The courts are good enough, they're custom, 2 way and are playable. Can't wait to see how the tuck actually looks. Going to Hyde Park Mouldings actual site, they do great, beautiful architecture work.

Wow! That was quick delivery by Uusi if this person already has the decks up for sale  A little misleading by stating that there are less than 250 of each :?

That's true but I think one way backs are more acceptable than one way courts because when you're playing a game, a one way back isn't much a bother since it can be viewed by you or the other players rather upside down or not. The HP on this deck is nothing since the rest of the design is two way. One way courts are the issue because when you spread your hand, it'll look awkward if court(s) are upside down, not spreaded the same way. Artist say you can see more detail in a one way than a two way but during a game it wouldn't matter.

I think people consider one way backs to be a more critical issue because, during play, a "good" dealer can use them to mark cards, where a one way face is just a visual annoyance, and is less likely to be something that can be used to cheat

I didn't know this, how can someone mark one way backs? I'm familiar with Madison decks that's already marked but how can someone do it with these HP cards?

It's just that the facing can be intentionally placed back in the deck upside down so when the card comes up you can identify it by it's orientation being different from the other cards. People that are much more dexterous and clever than I

Easy, think of it this way, if you are the one collecting the cards from the table during a game, you can easily arrange then so the aces are all oriented one way different than the rest of the cards. So when the cards are dealt you can easily spot who got the aces. Just a simple example, there are more complex thing taht you can do!! :)
