OBSOLETE: broken thumbnail

Unread post by dazzleguts »

Very sorry rhu, I screwed up
I added an image for the Artifice mini emerald and noticed it wasn't as distinct as the blue one. I sharpened my original image then went to the page for the deck and deleted the old one. Now the image is showing broken rather than as "scan needed" and I'm not being given the upload option on the deck page to add in the sharpened image.

Next time I will add the replacement image and switch the thumbnail assignation before deleting the old image.

Meanwhile I can't upload a new image.

broken thumbnail

Unread post by Slavich »

Just a heads up, yesterday I noticed that if you delete an image and then upload another one with exact same name then for some reason it shows up as the old image. Not sure if that is just my browser cache or not. So I guess if you just retouched the photo and then would re upload it with the same name it might not show the new photo but instead the old one, give it a try once you can upload again, maybe it will work for you :)

Pro-tip: Don't upload a different image with the same name to the same deck ;) I'm not going to fix that issue any time soon.

Similarly, if you delete an image that's used as a thumbnail then it's not smart enough to remove the thumbnail again. I should fix this one, just not today :) Anyone with the "Editor" right can fix this issue though.

Anyway, this is my first day off in a while so I'm going to plug in some horrific music and see what I can get done on the PCDB today. Scooooter!

Still can't upload, and I don't have editing rights, so this will have to wait for someone who can edit.

If someone does fix it please let me know and I will upload the new image.

I added place-holder image and made it the thumb. Hopefully you should be able to upload more images now... ?

Ok this time I did nothing unusual, but my Fire & Brimstone has a broken thumbnail. I tried reassigning the thumbnail to the secondary image to see if the image was the problem but that didn't work either.

The deck image is 200 dpi and 400 pixels across.

You used the '&' in your file, this is why. I downloaded the image, renamed and uploaded, works fine. I also then removed your copy.

Yeah, known issue. I commented about it in this thread - http://unitedcardists.com/viewtopic.php?f=60&t=5646

This is also why I have it referenced in the guidelines to not use special characters in the file names because while it works fine initially when made to be deck image or other features where the code doesn't account for it stuff breaks - http://unitedcardists.com/viewtopic.php?f=58&t=5627. I'll update it to also explicitly mention '&' for clarity.

EDIT - I only renamed the tuck image, but you used in both so that's why neither worked.

This is also why only a special few are given contributor access ;) I will fix this issue soon though.

I knew about the special characters but had a blind spot for the & since I use it so much for the word.

I'll rename the second image myself just to cement it in my mind.
