LPCC category needed?

Unread post by badpete69 »

Hey guys... I must say entering every single deck I own in the database is fun work. As always I come across a special case where I have a question.

This time it concerns LPCC. So i was inputting my Classic Gold decks in the database and the only entry in there was the EPCC/Conjuring Arts version with the wrong amount printed. I must admit this deck is a little confusing as 1000 were made of which EPCC kept 300 of which they are selling 200 through Conjuring Arts. The other 700 went to LPCC which are selling them in 2 ways: 500 with a numbered seal and 200 just like Conjuring arts is doing

So my question is as follows

LPCC does sell many decks with their own special seals like the Hipster deck, the draconian decks and this classic gold deck. To me this represents a separate product (just like a different tuck box would ) but this is easily debatable. Should we have separate entries for decks like at LPCC that have different unique seals but that are essentially the same deck. If the answer becomes yes then the Company category should include LPCC. I ended up modifying the existing Classic gold entry to show that 500 decks existed with that EPCC seal and that 500 decks existed with that LPCC numbered seal. I used Conjuring Arts as the company since there was no LPCC category

In the end I just want to start the discussion ( and I apologize if you guys already had that debate). I did add a description in both classic gold entries to explain the printing situation at least so people would know

Let me know what you think

EDIT: I guess i found my answer in a way when I just entered my Aquila decks. There are indeed separate entries for the regular decks and the numbered decks

I think you're totally right. In my opinion you should be able to distinguish between all the different varieties of a deck when you make your entries.

But like you I'm also totally open for discussion since we all know it will take a lot! of different entries for some decks

If they are numbered separately or have any other distinction then yes they should be listed as separate PCDB entries. You can add a clarifying name at the end of the deck name as needed to indicate the source, but definitely also provide details within the description. Please note that nobody should list a new PCDB entry as 54/500 if they have number 54, instead just one entry for all 500. Once added to your collection your can rename your COPY of that deck to include the '54/500' which is something I personally do as well.

* Tuck swaps should be listed as separated entries
* Seal swaps, those decks that have a limited edition primarily due to a custom and usually serial numbered sticker/seal can also be added as separate entries. However, all decks within that seal are listed together (if it was a small run of 5, do not list each individual deck as separate entries).

I created a new LPCC category, but we need to be sure it is used for only those decks PRODUCED by LPCC and not those just MANUFACTURED/PRINTED by them (those should go under the proper actual producer, Kickstarter Misc or Unknown (-). Those with access and knowledge to properly do so, please re-assign any decks as needed. Thanks! :D

I thought so too, but when I saw they are under CARC and read up on that I wasn't sure which they really belong under. Since CARC tended to get the bulk of the product in that partnership I would argue it seems more CARC produced, but CARC doesn't appear anywhere on the cards or tuck like Asking Alexander does...So really I can see that going either way, but possibly more towards Legends. Anybody else have an opinion or inside knowledge?
