52 Collectable Decks (Yes I know it should be Collectible)

Unread post by WillHart CthulhuWho1 »

As far as I can tell, there were 104 decks of "52 Collectable" cards sold by 1EyedJack between the original decks and the V2 decks in 2014.

I really think there should be a listing for both the Original and V2 decks in the Database, and I'm willing to put the listings in there; but I don't know what I should show as a front and back for the deck.

If nothing else comes to mind, I can lay out my V2 deck into a card-shaped pattern, and use that.

Any thoughts on the matter?

And does anyone have an extra V1?

Or any information on a V3 deck?

Or any information on what became of 1EyedJack?

Yeah, that's a tough one. Really it's just a set of 52 single swap cards which by definition wouldn't belong in the database. However, because it was packaged and sold as different versions with a seal specific to the collection/version that would suggest it should be. I'm not sure it really belongs personally, but it's definitely in a grey area were I wouldn't argue against it since you feel it should be included. It was sold as a deck so perhaps that is enough, probably counts more than a seal swap anyhow... ;)

Complicating matters is each deck is totally different with only the backs being the same (as in all 52 different, but from same decks), right? My suggestion would be to provide images that focus more on the backs and provide a good description about it. For the deck image personally I would use a close up of the seal, possibly superimposed over an image of the card back collection in the background.

I know I saw threads about 1eyedjack's demise, did you see this one? http://unitedcardists.com/viewtopic.php ... 05&p=75246

Provided this would just be 3 entries, one for each version, I say go for it.

Also, did you see this old related thread? http://unitedcardists.com/viewtopic.php ... 03&p=50295
