The place to show off your decks and 'own' a topic

Over the past few weeks several people have asked me to open an area for people to have a personal thread with the intent of doing exactly what we decided to call this forum: "Show Us Your Cards!". This is the place, and like it says in the sub-title of the forum - "Don't be bashful". Please take a minute to introduce yourself, give us a little background and history - as much as you wish, then take off and "Own the topic" like I said.

As we learn from experience how this forum is going to grow, I'll likely modify this if you notice that it has changed, please come back and reread it. I will be sure to highlight any changes I make so they are obvious and not hidden, but for the most part you are free to do as you please here beyond start a fire.

That being said - please enjoy yourself and do your best to "Show Us Your Cards!" (and decks, and ephemera or anything related you want to share)

Just because I like to make things crystal clear:

Step 1: Make a new thread. Be sure to put your username in the title, one way or another.
Step 2: Write a small (or big, if you want) introduction to you, your collection and your collecting ways.
Step 3: Post as many pictures of your decks as you want in your thread, with or without descriptions.
Step 4: Have fun with it, and check out other users' threads as well :)

Of course, Lolo. We do what we can! I think it will be a popular place given a few weeks to grow, and likely will be a great place to compare notes and see things that are not always posted elsewhere.

My wife says I'm no good at following instructions ... but here goes

Right from the start I like old Bicycle decks - so pretty excited to find this sample folder from early 1900's depicting some of the named backs in four colors.

Haha Tom, Judy is right indeed. You were supposed to start your own thread instead of posting here =)

Don't get us all started, Tom & Kai! We all have to live at home, you know?

Hahah you know im joking right ? ;) ;) But on a more serious note, Tom has vast collection of decks that most of us has never even seen or heard of before. It would bring this section to a whole new level if he has his own thread =)

Hi Everyone,

Super new to the forum and just curious as to the best way to post pictures? Took pictures over the weekend of the collection and was hoping to post it up.

hey there, ok so basically you have two ways.

1. Post the pictures as an attachment (ok if you have 1 or 2 photos, 1 upload at a time)

2. Use a hosting site (eg. Photobucket, etc) to upload the photos, then paste the img link here. (if you have many photos, being able to upload multiple at once might save you time).

Looking forward to see what you have in store for us :D

Hello.
I'm working on the creation of new playing cards ARKANUM.
Express your opinion on my cards.
What should be changed?

Hi vovkalex - at first glance I quite like it - but this would be better posted in the Deck Drafting forum here: http://unitedcardists.com/viewforum.php?f=15 in its own topic - you'll get better feedback that way!
Thanks.

If I photograph a deck, is it okay to make a thread to show the photos off here? Would that just be annoying if I keep making threads for each deck? Would it even be interesting? If you want to know want my photos look like, I post them on @52_eirik on IG

We greatly enjoy that, but rather than adding a new thread you should use an existing one for the deck if one is there to be had

Mods will merge threads to keep things together as well

Ooh, should I be adding my photos to deck threads? I've just been posting them to my own collection thread.

Not annoying, and definitely interesting.

Okay, I’ll search for a thread for whatever deck I photograph and post there? I could maybe make a thread where I post all my photos of all my decks? Would that be a good way to do it?

You can make one thread in this subforum and post anything card-related you like :D You're also welcome to post pictures of decks in their respective threads in the New Decks subforum

Personally I try to post my own pictures in the New Decks section, and do "group shots" and the occasional deck that doesn't deserve its own thread in my own thread here

I put my hanafuda in the hanafuda railroad thread, oddball in my collection thread and everything else on its respective deck or oddball thread

If there's pictures I take for recent decks or pictures of a deck that has no pictures in the respective thread, I may post it there. Otherwise, my rarities, ephemera, treasures, or oddball decks gets posted in my collection thread. Browsing through our various collection threads can give you a better idea of how people have gone about it.
