Poland

Unread post by volantangel »

So on my 2 week trip to Europe, instead of picking up piatnik decks that austria is supposed to be teeming with like what Dazz would have expected (actually i did see a couple of grossly overpriced ones in toy shops). I picked this deck up in Krakow, Poland in one of its castle's shops. The decks are produced by Gramitus (http://www.gramicus.pl/eng/index.htm) which is a Polish card producer. The card quality resembles high end souvenir deck quality, not flimsy but has no finish on them.

The decks came in a cardboard like box, which is a very nice touch and ensures no damage to the decks, but add significant bulk.

The decks itself come with this strip of vellum paper with a company sticker, instead of the usual plastic wrap, which is a classy touch.

The courts have a stained glass look to them. The set of courts are called Orlando andis one of the their five "standard" court figures. The ace of spades and hearts are ornate, and the deck comes with three jokers making up 55 cards.

Nice deck! Funny how of the few decks you found, it had to be a stained glass one. :)

Cool deck, and I like that box.
Wow, no cards in Austria. Perhaps card playing has fallen off there and everyone is playing video games.
