Reproduction of "The Constitution of Cadiz",Produced by the Fournier Card Museum from a pack in their collection and printed by Ediciones del Prado of Madrid in 2004. The tuck box has the 1 of Coins printed on the front and the card back printed on the back, the card backs are printed with the Spanish flag and the word Constitucion, The card dimensions are 86mm x 53mm.
This pack of 48 cards was produced to commemorate the Constitution proclaimed in Cadiz on the 19th of March 1812.Dedicated to the National Council of Commerce in Barcelona this pack was Created by Simon Ardit y quer, a sargeant in the 6th company of the 4th Battalion of voluntary militiamen, and printed at his factory in Barcelona in 1822.
The suits are replaced by allegories of the constitution, Strenght, Justice and Union. The coins bear the text "constitution", The cups artillery shells, the swords do not change and the clubs represent emblems symbolizing commerce.
Several cards bear texts from the constitutional articles. Among the figures, Lacy, Quiroga, Daoiz, Arco Aguero, Velarde, Riego, Porlier and Lopez Banos are represented while the four Kings bear a crowned Lion and the attributes corresponding to each suit.
