I've experience with HTML, CSS, PHP (rusty there though), JavaScript, VB Script for MS office

Not sure that Mike would want me tinkering under the hood :P , but I'm happy to crunch numbers and produce graphs and whatnot.

I'm pretty certain that we are going to take that direction, Joe. If you can code, we'll be pressing you into service. I can code HTML well enough to build a basic page and even get a little fancy, but the part about handling a database / backend files is beyond my ken.

It looks like the way we're going we're going to fold the project under UC. I think that's the logical way to go. We already know who the "bad guys" or bad projects are, and we already have enough users that have experience with crapped up projects, so we could easily create another forum that was dedicated to "all things Kickstarter" including the two threads I maintain now, which is soon going to morph into 3, one being the "Kickstarter Hall of Shame" and takes projects out of the "Successfully Funded" thread and tosses them into the lion's den. What I'm thinking about is creating a new "Kickstarter" sub-forum and then underneath the "Hall of Shame" thread we could have each of those lucky projects that end up there with a separate thread so that users can comment on each specific late or flat our fraudulent project. That sounds like a start to me, not exactly where I wanted to go just yet, but with Walrus' help maybe we can figure out how to do a little backend SQL database that tracks the trends and rates project and creators depending on their feedback after we develop a uniform survey that people could fill out on the effectiveness of the project, the timeliness of fulfillment, etc.?

You know I'm not 100% certain, but I think Lee was just a facilitator for the transaction but Tom basically bought the forums from Alex. I know that Don is still the main guy there, beyond that I'd be speculating. It could well be Tom & wife ("Judy"), but I'm almost certain that even if she is an owner in name, it's in name only and she won't be taking an active roll there. Lee is listed as an "Admin" person, he may well be doing the actual 'work' for Tom, I guess we'll see.

Doesn't really affect us here, we need to keep UC strong and distinctive in what we do and are.

My server side coding is aqt least a decade out of date, but I'll give what help I can.

That's certainly how it comes accross on the posts from Tom on the Discourse.

UC and discourse certainly each have thier own personality and flavour - and I enjoy them both.

Hell of a pity party there. Of course it's fine to justify ineptitude and theft because things are pointless and money isn't real. It's also fine to expect others to pay your way without seeking any kind of personal income. Responsibility is as real as money after all. It's not at all hypercritical to throw away privilege and opportunity because of some sociopathic neo-hippy commune pretence, only to expect who have privilege or embraced opportunity to pay him to think in a room.
All this MUST be ok - at least two other helped burn the books that were produced and film it.

I can't decide if this guy will end up living in a box under a freeway or will sell the whole campaign as performance art.

You know, now that UC has such a big "footprint" in the industry, I think we're doing what we can with the new "Kickstarter 'Hall of Shame'" post that Joe has been fine-tuning for the past few weeks, almost a month now. I posted a separate message asking y'all to go take a peek at the post and see if you see anything that needs tweaking. We're going to get some publicity on this one, so let's be certain that we've got things just right before we go pointing fingers.

Jesus. If that guy wants to be a hippie, let him be on his own dime. That video and the rambling made my stomache turn. The sight of so many people actually watching their rewards burn away in a bonfire is horrible.

They should sue the crap out of him. Imo theres a place very suitable for him, behind bars, where money is no issue, and he has big brother paying for his every necessity. Isnt that just perfect?

I'm glad it's coming - and if everyone gets their decks than I'll update the desription, but at 11 months over the 6 months late cutoff I don't think it'll move out the HOS thread...

I'll send it along to the guys at "KickScammed.com" - and with that I guess we can now close this topic, since it's been done already by someone with a broader brushstroke than we have just for playing card projects: http://KickScammer.com is a relatively new site that is going to digest our "Hall of Shame" and add it to their list of broken promises and scammers for KS projects in general.

The "Hall of Shame" topic above is going to be all ours, but I've contributed the list to them so they can catalog yet another group of around $350,000 projects that we have listed in our thread here.
