Thanks for the comments and ideas for the Fabergé Deck!

I'll be having a contest on the Midnight Cards Facebook page tonight at 10:30 pm EST.
It's pertaining to the New ORNATES, and I'm guessing it will be a quick one.

thanks, Randy

Didn't realize these were a go. What details can you give about them?

I recently updated my Facebook cover image with this Scarlet and Sapphire Render. After the contest tonight (10:30 pm EST) I'll replace the image with the same Render but with the New Tuck Boxes. I'll post it here also later tonight.

thanks, Randy

Thanks for participating in the contest!
It did go fast. I figured it would. I kept getting PMs from people asking if Emerald was one of the new Decks.
I wasn't sure how long it would take for Amethyst to be chosen. Good call!

thanks, Randy

Hey Everyone,

The Fabergé Deck is now renamed the Imperial Deck. Fabergé didn't grant the naming rights. I was ready for it, and without it, there's a lot more leeway to what I can do with the logo treatment. Here's the Ace of Spades! The Gold Kremlin is meant to depict the "surprise" found inside the Imperial Eggs. The AOS, Tuck and Brick Box will also have the Kremlin Spade and IMPERIAL Logo with the Hammer & Sickle icon to really bring out the Russian aspect of the Deck.

thanks, Randy

I was just about to ask about these yesterday but couldn't due to the site going up and down. I hadn't seen this before since I'm use to new decks having individual threads. Not keen on the new name but still like what i see with the art. 8-)

These are looking great! I'm loving the gold Saint Basil's Cathedral. Is the Russian two-headed eagle going to make an appearance in the deck?

Thanks everyone!

kc62002 - Yeah, the Deck's not far enough along yet to create it's own thread yet. I like having this official Midnight Cards thread and sort of posting updates like I would on the Midnight Facebook page!

I did some minor changes to the Ace of Spades based on Paul Carpenter's suggestion. Having the USPCC copy in the script font was a little too much, so I switched it over to the same bolder font as Imperial.

Also, here's a new version of the Back Design. I fine-tuned it quite a bit by reducing the size of the corner elements, centering the eggs, changing up the "etching" pattern in the background and a few other minor changes.

Hope you like! thanks, Randy

I also love Randy's work, and am particularly impressed by the diversity of designs he has produced! He has created more than 40 different decks, with an astounding diversity in style and theme, ranging from exquisite Russian jewels, eye-catching fantasy dragons, humorous ten pin bowling, classic ancient history, to luxurious ornate baroque, and much more!

It may be of interest to others who have posted in this thread, that I've just published a four-part series of extensive pictorial reviews, which feature virtually the entire catalogue of decks that Randy has designed so far:

Part 1: The ORNATE series

Part 2: The Imperial series and Draconian series

Part 3: The Bowl-a-rama series and Grinders series

Part 4: The Ancient Rome series, and other decks
