...and this is (at least) the fourth time the world was supposed to end this year alone! (radio evangelist Harold Camping announced the Rapture for April 2012 and then October 2012), so such predictions have lost some of their shine, somewhat.
There used to be a web page somewhere with a list of hundreds of such predictions over the centuries. There have been thousands of course, but this page only listed the ones that got some traction.
