I'll be in Vegas in a few weeks for a convention, I had in my mind visions of a crawl up and down the boulevard collecting various casino cards. I can't imagine I'm the only one - Is there anything I should know? Here are a couple random questions, please chime in if you have any info!
- are *all* the casino cards going to be cut or are there non-table dealt "casino brand" cards?
- is there a particular place to go in a given casino? (the "old deck booth" or just the sundry store?)
- is there a "must see" something for the card obsessed?

I've never been - but there's no way that a casino will risk you being able to wanter up to a blackjack table with a set of identical cards in your pocket. If you find untampered with decks they will be souvenirs or older designs no longer used.

As Joe said, they'll be clipped, drilled or otherwise defaced. Don't have any in your hand while walking a casino floor unless you want to be talking to some men in suits. Keep any purchases in a bag and you'll be fine. You can find them in the casino/hotel/resort gift store along with a variety of souvenir decks. Can also purchase dice and of course chips are the easiest to come by.
Overall though just be safe and most of all, enjoy yourself.

Re: Las Vegas casino run
Thanks for the tips - I'll definitely keep anything I purchase in a bag. I'm not interested really in getting cut/drilled cards, but I would love some novelty decks or "unusable in casino" versions.
Penn & Teller was AMAZING last time I was there years ago, but I didn't investigate if they had playing cards in their shwag stuff for sale. Does anyone have suggestions for acts or locations that might have specialty/novelty decks? Criss Angel show maybe? etc.?

Though neither famous or popular, the Westin's dinky casiino, Max Casino, gives away their used cards (cut corners) for free at the cashier booth...
