Dealing Decks

Unread post by jerichoholic »

Not sure where to put this under, so mods feel free to move it where you feel best. Dealingdecks.com is a new playing card marketplace from Dealing Deuces as an alternative to Ebay with low fees. And you can apparently easily transfer your Ebay auctions to Dealing Decks for like only 2%. I'm not sure how this new concept will work, but it's definitely something worth exploring.

Interesting. I would like a new venue besides ebay.
Does this use PayPal?

Looks like there are only Casino decks at the moment.

Adam (owner) is in Lost Wages - makes sense. That's pretty much what he sells for the most part. Good luck! I haven't explored yet, but setup an account only to find it doesn't like my mobile ((Android) browser.

Ebay has 155 million active users and charges a higher percentage than the new site. 10% vs 3%

What do you imagine the number of buyers you will be selling to on the new site will be? Even looking at them as a targeted group, the drop in number of potential customers makes this unlikely to succeed. Ebay also allows sellers with good ratings to pay less in final value fees.

After reading their stipulations and warnings, the new site doesn't make me feel safer as a buyer or a seller. I'll stick with Ebay and the forums I regularly visit.

Interesting idea, but the lack of an audience is going to take some work. Forums take an age to get off the ground but when traction is gained they can snowball, but if a seller makes less money selling a deck on this marketplace due to the lack of bidders - the lower fees mean very little.

Wish him all the best, but there's a reason this hasn't been done and tried before.

I love it. I really like seeing more and more accessibility for the decks we all love. Ebay is a gigantic pain in the ass for me to find a specific deck on, on the rare occasions I consider breaking my self imposed ebay ban haha. It's probably the way I search, but it's irrelevant. I think it's cool as hell a playing card auction site that deals with things we love. Rather than wading through yugioh mtg and god knows what else that pop up on ebay. Mostly casino decks being offered at the moment, those Caesars Tahoe decks are pretty eye catching to me though.

Fun stuff, I like it a lot. Thanks for pointing this out Victor. :D
TL:DR It's completely up to you.
We can still be friends.
I actually like playing cards.
