Help identifying a deck

Unread post by nECr0MaNCeD »

Hello boys and girls.... I won an auction on ebay for the set below and don't know anything about the decks. I was hoping one of you might. I was rather surprised I won ($7.50 w/ shipping) as the deck looks to be 20+ years old. They look to be from Egypt judging by the writing.

Bad news.. This could be a knockoff..
Good news? These dont look like knockoffs, and if there are knockoffs of a deck, its means its kinda valuable right?

Definitely Egyptian, Alexandria is their second largest city - after Cairo.

The deck looks more like 50 years old (corrected - 45?). I have not seen a deck from this maker before. Excellent find!

Edit - still in business, mostly making carogated board, here's their contact page: http://moharem-press.com/en/Contactus.aspx (in English)

Yup. I have family in Alexandria. That's what I based my guess on.

Cool decks. Are you going to open one at all or leave them sealed? Would be interested in what the courts look like.

The red deck is opened so I will be posting pics of all of the cards. the blue is sealed so I plan on keeping them that way.

EDIT: Interesting back design. Would be great inspiration for a modern deck IMHO.
