Thanks for the explanation, UF!

Both your avatar and user name have always seemed familiar to me. Did/do you post over at the JREF Forums?

For those who haven't looked in my featured collector thread.. here it is...

"CBJ"

Well, it has nothing to do with hockey or the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Let me start by saying that I’ve worked in the chocolate industry for over 20 years…

In my early 20s, I started hanging out with a new group of friends. In our group there were 3 Jasons, so if I came up in conversation when I wasn’t around…
someone would ask “which Jason?”, and the response would be.. “ the chocolate bar guy”. This quickly changed into Chocolate Bar Jay, and then became CBJ.
Most of my friends call me CB or CBJ. Even their kids call me CBJ

I used to play a lot of 2 man beach volleyball, so I was a huge fan of Sinjin Smith (he and Karch Kiraly are probably the two greatest of all time), that's why I go by sinjin7. I grew up in southern California and am a die hard Dodgers fan.

I explained my username before in the last person to post thread, basically place I used to work at, to Chach something was the work friendly way of saying you f'ed it up. I would regularly assign things to a person that didn't think they should be assigned to him in addition to being my clumsy self and f'ing things up regularly so he started calling me Chach, which led to everyone in the dept calling me Chach and it's stuck since then. Even the Urban Dictionary definition fits for the most part (I don't pop my collar but I do tend to piss people off.).

As for my avatar, I change them frequently on the different forums. Right now it's the badger from the old badger badger badger vid. http://youtu.be/EIyixC9NsLI" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Another one I use is the horse face from this semi-NSFW annoying song, http://youtu.be/M6u2vjPoh8c" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Ahhh... the spade pic.

It's actually a belt buckle pic that I stumbled upon one day, and I saved it. Then when I joined UC.net... I used it.

Here's the original pic/site it's from

I can't bother to change it now... I've been using it for years, on all the different forums and sites

BTW... Great thread Robert

Thanks for the explanation, Rick!

So your first name is actually "Rickard"? I don't think I've ever heard of that before.

And the reason behind your invisible (or perhaps microscopic) avatar?

Thanks for the explanation, Sinjin!

I have a dear friend who was a member of the first USA Beach Volleyball Olympic team, in 1996 (Atlanta). Her name is neither Sinjin nor Karch, BTW).

Whereabouts in SoCal? I was born and raised in Los Angeles County.

I'm not a sports fan, but my wife was a die-hard Dodgers fan up until the strike, after which she pretty much lost all interest in the sport. Her son (from her first marriage) is still a huge Dodger fan.

Nice! Did you get the belt buckle? That would be cool...

My first name is Russell. My sister used to tease me by calling me RussellSprouts. For some reason, brussel sprouts are the only vegetable I don't eat. I can't stand the smell of those little green balls boiling in a pot while boiling cabbage is not problem. I think it's an enigma. I really had thought is all in my head, but I really don't like those little bastards.

Yeah, me neither (except for those which came already attached to a belt I'd purchased, anyway...).

I just came across this cool and interesting thread and thought I'd revive it in the hopes that some of the newer folks might join in.

"flashcards" is based on a name I came up with when I was actively collecting military camouflage and tactical gear. I've never been in the military (though I worked in law enforcement for many years) so I chose the name "flashbang" which to me meant something that was basically harmless. It reminded me of the quote from MacBeth, "...full of sound and fury, signifying nothing." I've used variations of it on other forums since I'm terrible at coming up with nicknames. I used "flashboom" when I was on an electric bass guitar forum while trying to (unsuccessfully) learn to play the bass. I was actually quite pleased when I came up with "flashcards" since it had "cards" in it. I'm also trying to learn cardistry but I doubt that I'll ever be good enough to call myself "flashcards" in that respect. As for avatars, I like using the supporter buttons people create for their KS campaigns. I wish more creators would make them.
