Not sure about this one. I'm excited to see Harley Quinn though ;)
There's still one big red flag for me and that's that they didn't have her voice for more than a few words. Ms. Quinzel has a VERY distinctive voice. Without it, the portrayal is nothing but a cheap imitation that is more at home on a convention floor than the big screen. Considering the changes made to Bane's voice post shooting, I'm sure they can tweak it if need be.

That said though, seeing as how Margot Robbie is a NYR fan as well (not to mention my future wife), I'll give her the benefit of the doubt for being able to pull off the appropriate Brooklyn accent, but unfortunately I have my doubts.

Jared Leto looks awesome though, and I do think his performance will take the cake here. Not only because of his character, but because out of the whole cast he's the most talented (just don't let my fiance hear I said that).

Well I still have hope she will pull off the accent. She had a pretty heavy Noo Yawk one in Wolf of Wall Street.

Yep, she was quite, ummm... good, shall we say, in Wolf of Wallstreet. She has the talent and obviously the ability but it's never been said as to whether or not she will do Harley's higher pitched Brooklynesque voice. Everything I've read has been ambiguous about the subject. I'm sure she will, but it's just a major point IMO. Dead shot has his rifles, Cap has his boomerangs, Joker has his laugh and Harley has her voice. And big ass mofo of a sledge hammer. :ugdance:

IMO this is what they should have made Harley look like, but honestly I'll take what I can get.

Not quite a comic/superhero movie, but did anyone catch Hitman ? One of the rare films flimed right here in Singapore, how did you find the scenery ?

Have not seen Hitman yet, but I would like to. I enjoyed the previous iteration.

I'd also like to know if anyone saw the "Fantastic" Four movie? I was debating to watch it or not after all the bad reviews, but it has stopped running in the theaters already so the decision was made for me

Honestly wouldn't bother - I get the feeling there was a decent movie in there somewhere but it got destroyed in the cutting room. Much like the original DeareDevil (the directors cut of the Aflek one is actually ok)

Don't know which is sadder. That someone smoked that much pot and wrote that or that I read most of it.

I liked the preview, but man they had to go and spoil the whole movie pretty much. I prefer trailers like what they e been releasing for Star Wars. Show lots of incredible footage but we're only two weeks out and there's still no definitive plot line, just guesses. Whereas here, we pretty much know what's going on, Superman & Batman are at odds with each other and in the midst of their throw down Lex Luthor unleashes his crap to take advantage of the situation causing Bruce, Clark & Co to set aside their differences and fight against the common foe.

I agree. They did the same with Terminator Genisys.
I liked it, some didn't, but however you felt about the movie it would have been WAY better not knowing the big twist before you walk in teh cinema!

Someone edited the trailer to be spoiler free. Much better IMO.

Side note: I think Kevin Smith and I are the only two people that thought from the beginning Ben Affleck would do a good version of Batman. I think he'll be the best hero in this flick (though I've always preferred Bats over Sups.)

Well, it's not like Bats and Supes WOULDN'T put aside their differences

But yeah, that looks like D*****Y and that little nugget should've been kept on the D-L.

Also, the more I see of Affleck the more I like him as Bruce, while it's the opposite with Eisenberg. I don't like anything I've seen of his Lex so far.

You heard it here first, there will be some sort of accident involving Lex that causes him to lose those flowing locks he's got. He will be bald by the end of the movie.

New Suicide Squad trailer. Still not sure how I feel about it, especially Harley. No smurfing accent. That's 1/2 her bloody character, her voice! I am liking Jared Leto's Joker more and more though. Think he'll nail it.

Re: Comics and Superhero movies

Saw Deadpool last night, thought I'd share my thoughts. IMAX was great, not 3D (thank God) and not a sold out crowd but crowded for 2100. The midnight showing line was longer than ours as we left.

Great movie, very funny. Don't think I've laughed that much in a theater since Super Troopers. I am a Deadpool fan, have read his comics for years and it's a good portrayal of the character, though he's not as insane as he's portrayed in print. They do reference comic material a fair bit, one scene in particular when he sees his g/f while fighting was like a panel right from a comic. And there is a character that's shown that will definitely separate the true Deadpool readers from those that think he's just a talkative BAMF in a red suit.

Colossus is awesome as is Negasonic Teenage Warhead (they changed her completely from the comics) and I wanted to see more of them in action. The movie as a whole left me wanting more in fact. As the third act was peaking I thought to myself I don't want this to end. Leave them wanting more and all I guess.

NOT for kids or teens that are even semi protected. There of course is a lot of violence, it wouldn't be Deadpool if there wasn't. If you saw the leaked scene from a year or two ago, that's the scale of violence. It's a comedic violence I guess. On the nudity front, there's a Ryan Reynolds naked fight scene but you don't see anything as its dark, there's one (funny) sex montage scene that also doesn't show much of anything and a trip to a strip club with a full frontal shot of a woman. Nothing that lingers though. A lot of sexual innuendos in the dialog however.

I'd give it a 10 out of a remaining 12 rounds and want to see it again in theaters.
